It's been a while since we've had any new information on the next entry in Level-5's hugely popular Inazuma Eleven series. This soccer-based video game series debuted on the DS in 2008 and has spawned numerous spin-offs, including an anime and manga series. But Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes — the upcoming Switch game — has had a bit of a rough time of it.
After being delayed from its original 2019 date to 2020, then all the way back to 2023, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino has shared an exciting development for anime soccer fans (thanks, My Nintendo News!). We'll finally be getting new details on the soccer RPG next week.

In the tweet, Hino mentions that Level-5's development blog will be updated with new information, and acknowledged that fans have been waiting a long time for the game to get a release.
So after months of radio silence, this could bring about some big news, and maybe some big changes! What those details might be, we don't know yet, but we'll be sitting inside the Inazuma Eleven stadium to make sure we don't miss out.
What do you want to see from the upcoming Inazuma Eleven game? Are you glad the project is still being worked on? Let us know below!

I thought Inazuma 10 was alright but Inazuma 4 was my favorite!
Wow! When we gotta get news about Ushiro, huh!? This game was announced 4 years ago! 4 YEARS AGO! And we didn't heard anything about this game after it's announcement and revival on Nintendo Switch. Previously, game was cancelled for PSP.
While you're at it, how's the localization of Yokai Watch 4 doin guys?
@patbacknitro18 Yeah, good question! Also, they still stay silent about Ushiro for 4 years!
Thinking about the 4 year delay, I think it’s best to recall the famous Miyamoto quote: “A delayed game is eventually Cyberpunk 2077, but a rushed game is Super Mario Sunshine, which I produced”.
I miss Yo-Kai Watch tbh. When I was 11, I was like the only person in America who cared about it. I literally preordered the only copy of YW3 my GameStop was stocking. GOATED game btw, get it on the Eshop while you can. The physical copies are at least worth 300$ now. Huge flex
@Goat_FromBOTW Quick check of ebay shows sealed physical of the english version of Yo-Kai Watch 3 is going for $250. 1 and 2 are nowhere near that much, with 1 typically going for under list price.
The big question is: is it coming to the west?
Video game collecting has it's ups and downs. Sometimes you overpay for something, sometimes you miss out on a great deal for a rare game, sometimes you get lucky. I've gone through all these emotions.
But one thing I will always be able to hold on to in times of despair is this... I have a sealed copy of Yo-kai Watch 3.
Looking forward to details of this I11 game.
Inazuma was a nice mix of football and RPG, although as with most Japanese games I wish they’d focus on the skill aspect more than the levelling up / cut scene bollix.
I loved the Inazuma 11 on the DS. But I wonder if the series can move to another platform without that play mechanic?
@Bret Did I phrase that confusingly? That’s exactly what I said, I was a huge fan and pre-ordered a copy of the third game, which is now worth a decent amount of money. I never said the first 2 games were.
@Bobb Not unless it has NFTs in them.
Why yes, I AM still bitter, why do you ask?
Something something Yo-Kai Watch, something something localization. Same song and dance from me, folks; still salty towards the way LEVEL-5 has been treating Western fans.
If it is true that Inazuma Eleven still has a holding from Level-5 on Switch I would be relieved. I like soccer very much. I have home MLS team and am very proud that my home hockey team and soccer team can coexist in one city. And I also want to see Level-5 to bring Danball Senki and Danball Senki W to Switch as well. LBX is where I started playing toy robot games. I have a Minerva Kai sitting in my room waiting for use in the game. And I hope that these titles are done for North America too and not make April Jokes about it.
@MH4
Wrong series...
@Rosona Same developer / publisher. My comment wasn’t focused on Yo-Kai Watch but rather my feelings on LEVEL-5 as a whole and their poor treatment of the West. Hope that clears things up!
We need a real Fantasy Life 2
I just want this to be released! I love these games and have been having some nostalgia for it recently (trying to collect all the physical copies), I just want this on my Switch.
Tsubasa has been my fix for this type of games (I love the arcadeyness), but miss the more RPG elements of I11, I hope it gets localized, but after no Yo-Kai 4 for years, I doubt it. I will pick it up either way!
