Pre-orders for the upcoming Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 have gone live on the eShop, with the game expected to launch very soon on July 27th, 2022.
To celebrate, publisher Inti Creates is not only offering up a 10% discount on pre-orders, but has also launched a sale for the Azure Striker Gunvolt series so newcomers can dive in at the beginning and see what all the fuss is about.

Well the US version is up for pre-order right now. And it's also 10% off. I just pre-ordered mine! 😁
I've never played any of these games and though I've heard of them, didn't know anything about the series. I was vaguely aware of it being related to Inti Creates, but I only really knew that name from Mighty Number 9 and haven't paid them much attention since... looking at what games they've subsequently worked on, that's my mistake, good stuff in there!
Though I like a lot of anime (and even produce an anime podcast) there are so many awful shovelware games on the e-shop and Steam with an (often faux) anime art style that I have developed somewhat of a blindspot. I actually only bothered clicking on this article because I thought the art in the thumbnail image was a cut above the usual.
After watching the trailer above, WOW I've missed out. That looks amazing! Both the pixel art and the presentation is stunning. If I had more free time I'd dive right in and check out the older titles... at the very least these are firmly on my radar now. Might pick the previous titles while they're cheap.
They're on sale in the US as well.
Gunvolt is a fun series with megaman vibes but also its own unique flavour; I may grab the sale to add to my collection.

The striker pack is a good starting point, as it contains the mainline entries to the series. These are the games that will lead to gunvolt 3.
Luminous avenger iX and its subsequent sequel are spinoffs. Excellent in their own right, they could be obtained if you enjoy the striker pack.
