Publisher Raw Fury and developer Fury Studios have announced the next entry in the Kingdom series, but with a very different vibe.
Kingdom Eighties will still be a strategy game like its predecessors, but instead, the game shuns the Medieval aesthetic for something a bit closer to home — the 1980s. The teaser doesn't give much away, though it's clear there are a few nods to Netflix's Stranger Things and movies from the decade such as E.T. and Disney's Tron.
Raw Fury has confirmed the game is coming to PC via Steam, but no console versions have been announced yet. We're feeling pretty hopeful though, as both Kingdom: New Lands (a reworked release of the first game) and Kingdom: Two Crowns came to the eShop. We'd love to see what Fury Studios can do with the genre in a pixelated, neon-soaked aesthetic.
If this gets an official Switch release, then we'll let you know! In the meantime, drop us a comment if you've enjoyed any of the games in the series!

This sounds awesome. I know the 80's nostalgia is overused but the other Kingdom games are amazing. This should be a banger.
Day 1 when platforms are announced. Love everything about this
A bit of a weird and unexpected direction for the series but also a pretty neat and interesting one. The Kingdom games are great so I'm sure I'll pick this one up when it releases too.
Heck yea. Loved the first two games and I absolutely LOVE the 80's. Can't wait
this is such a strange direction to take the series
Expansion DLC title Stranger Kings, calling it now.
I feel like this should’ve been one of the DLCs for Two Crowns, but if it’s different enough I’ll buy.
