[Correction: The DLC itself is not free, but players will receive a free item if they download it before the 31st July. We apologise for the error.]
Mammoths, Sabertooths, and Sloths, oh my! These are just some of the creatures you'll be able to meet, befriend, and explore the digestive systems of, with Minecraft's new Ice Age DLC pack.
The DLC, which requires Minecraft Bedrock Edition, includes a new map, 30 skins, and some of the iconic locations from the Ice Age movies. You can dress up as Sid the Sloth, Manny the Mammoth, or Diego the Sabertooth Tiger, and explore the skeleton bridge and the lava falls in blocky form.

There's also a mission to complete, which will involve you looking for Scrat the squirrel's acorns — which apparently have a secret to discover if you collect them all.
The DLC is available to all for 1340 Minecraft Coins, with a free item available for anyone who downloads it from today up until the 31st July, 2022.

Hope ice age baby makes it into the lineup.
Doesn't seem to be free currently , it's 1340 coins right now
I'm deleting Minecraft from all my platforms because I can't risk the Ice Age Baby being in my Minecraft world.
I got kinda of excited until I realized this was just an advertisement.
I mean as long as stuff like this keeps them occupied from making another mid a@$ sequel I’m not complaining
So how does one go about getting this content on their Switch? The link in the article takes me to the Microsoft website...I don't play minecraft myself, but my kids do. I have always been baffled by how complicated it seems to be to access, login, and do almost anything with Minecraft beyond just play the actual base game...any help or direction would be appreciated.
I checked the eShop online and I couldn't find this free content anywhere there either...
@grovertheblue From the Minecraft store on the main menu, ingame. It runs like utter crap on Switch, but that's how you get stuff.
Ah that sounds nice, guess I gotta launch the game.
Edit: Huh it doesn't seem to be free at the moment.
@RainbowGazelle Thank you for the help.
In other Minecraft news, I think the Wild update has a release date of June 7... if that got reported here I missed it.
Sounds nea- wait. No Ellie and Peaches? No possum bros? No Shira or Brooke? No Buck? NO BRONWYN??? flips table
I never realized how horrifying 2-legged mammoths are. Nightmare fuel.
the dlc isnt free. you get a free item if you get the dlc by the end of july
Minecraft: the game that started off as an idea from a guy who quit his job and went on to become what it is today.
I'm still playing the Sonic DLC but I'll happily download this.
Um... the very page you've linked to even explicitly states "Unlock this item for 1340 Minecon".
@grovertheblue No problem!
@TheMelodiusRose Oh that's good! It's been a bit since I was on the Switch version.
@TheMelodiusRose When was this update? Do images actually load now?
@TheMelodiusRose Thats great!
@Jbuggydroid @Silly_G @smithpa01 Yep, you're all correct, apologies for the error! The store page was not live when this article was written, and there was no indication of cost in the initial press release. Sorry!
