Having made its debut in a Nintendo Indie World broadcast back in 2020, Card Shark by developer Nerial featured in the latest showcase with two announcements - a demo is arriving on the eShop later today, and the full game will launch on 2nd June.
The concept of Card Shark is that you fleece and cheat your way to the top of 18th century French society, all through playing cards and tricking the other players in various ways. The latest trailer, above, shows the other aspects of the game too - a story of intrigue, duels and more. Part of its official description is below:
Card Shark is an adventure game full of cunning, intrigue, and delectable deceit. Enter a world where you’ll need to play your opponents better than you play your cards.
We can't help but be drawn in by its look and premise; it could be a pretty unique title to try out on Switch. Let us know what you think, as always, in the comments.

been looking forward to this one since it was first announced. better late than never!
all i wanted was a shadowdrop
That's not too far away, cool. This one seems neat.
I am really excited to try the demo tonight! The premise and art style just sound very unique and fun. Maybe I'll put Barry Lyndon on in the background to set the mood while I play.
This does look rather intriguing but I can't see it having too much replay value, will give the demo a go at least.
This is on my radar
this direct was pretty meh. Nothing stood out to me, but I'll try this demo
Forgot about this one. I'll check out the demo but I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting this.
just finished the demo. it is pretty long (like 90 minutes to 2 hours) suffice to say, I will be buying this game day 1. awesome! i actually kind of wanna replay the demo.....
@SteamEngenius I agree with you. For a non rogue-lite card game to have any relevance in a world full of online only player versus player collectible card games and rogue-lite card battlers it needs to be of an extremely high quality. Notice that this game is being published by Devolver Digital however, so an extremely high quality it may have. The demo is downloading on my Nintendo Switch as we speak. To say that anyone not familiar with Devolver Digital yet needs to be would be an understatement.
Need to play the demo again as I was a little overwhelmed with the controls and having to remember all the inputs in the first part , but I was quite impressed with what I played . Not something I thought I would like either
