It was only a month ago that body-horror game Oxide Room 104 was confirmed for Switch and a bunch of other platforms, and now it has a firm release date. It'll give us sleepless nights when it lands on the eShop on 17th June, with a physical edition to come later in the Summer.
The hook with this one, beyond plenty of gore and some horrific monsters, is that each death brings another run starting in the same bathtub; each time you play conditions and events will be a little different.
Oxide Room 104 is a body-horror videogame where we will unexpectedly wake up in the bathtub of room 104 of the Night Soul Motel, after going to an appointment for a shady business that has apparently gone wrong. From that moment on, Matthew, the protagonist of this story, will have to use all his skills to find the way out of there and put an end to the worst experience of his life, but a horrible creature and a ruthless scientist will prevent him from doing so. Each time Matthew dies, he will return again and again to the bathtub of room 104 as the motel becomes increasingly macabre and hostile.
The story will change every time you make a decision or perform certain actions, giving you a wide range of possibilities that will decide the fate of this terrifying adventure with multiple endings. Will you be able to survive Oxide Room 104?
You can see a trailer below, just beware that it contains a decent helping of gore and body-horror themes.

Nice. Love a good horror game.
What the heck is body horror?? (No way I'm clicking that!)
@GrailUK As I understand it's like body odor, but REALLY bad.
Never heard of body horror in my life outside of reviews of Honey Boo Boo.
Body horror = horror centered around mutilation and disfigurement of the body
Eww, why do I know this…
Cool! Hopefully it's a good one. There aren't that many good horror games on the Switch.
@Ear_wiG Thank you,. Yeah, I'll avoid it lol. It's already not my cup of tea. (Not saying I'm against others enjoying it.)
Wouldn't it be grand if the "a" button worked in-game? That sure would be swell, considering "a" is the ACTION button.. And before you say "looks like you need a new a button, buddy." keep in mind it works flawlessly with everything else. Help.
Please and thank you.
EDIT: Me, being the ***** that I am, was confusing b and a. Sorry. And this game kicks much butt. 10/10
@LokiKatze Have you tried Tormented Souls? Probably the best horror game on PC and switch
@SteamEngenius Think Cronenberg, The Fly, Silent Hill, The Sinking City (an homage to Cronenberg and HP Lovecraft)
@Ear_wiG HP Lovecraft's Colour Out of Space, and ESPECIALLY the Nic Cage adaptation of the story into a movie is an excellent example of body horror. and a GREAT movie.
@dolemitsu Yeah that was a fantastic movie, I really enjoyed it. Glad you liked it too!
