Just a couple of days ago, Nintendo revealed one of the new weapons for the upcoming Splatoon 3: the delightful Ink Vac. Designed to suck up ink and fire it back to create an explosion of chaos and colour, it's sure to be a hit with fans of the franchise.
Now, Nintendo has revealed another new weapon, except this one looks a bit more familiar, particularly if you've been with the series from the very beginning. Called the 'Triple Inkstrike', the weapon allows you to fire three ink missiles in the air, before marking your targets with three balls. You can chuck these in quick succession for a deadly barrage of missiles, or you can space them out for more strategic strikes.
Of course, the original Inkstrike from 2015's Splatoon had a similar use, allowing users to select their target via the Wii U's Gamepad screen. We've lost the additional screen with Splatoon 3, granted, but the addition of two more missiles more than makes up for this.
Splatoon 3 will launch on the Switch on September 9th. Will you be picking up the new entry? Let us know with a comment!

I love that they're bringing this one back from the first game! It was my favorite special. Looks like you can throw the projectiles really far, too.
I do love this special already, gonna be fun to flush people out with. Splatoon 3 specials are looking sick.
I LOVED the Inkstrike. So happy they are bringing it back!
A really cool twist on a special that I thought was impossible to return due to it's very obvious gamepad use on Wii U. Seeing those pillars fly in the match was a sight to behold. Definitely going to try out any weapons with this.
I keep hoping to see single player footage.
I was an Inkstriker from the off and it served me well until Splatoon 2 decided to drop it. I'm very happy to see it return.
Won countless matches by such a small margin because of setting off the Inkstrike in the last 2 seconds of a match in the first game.
Yoooo, I loved the Inkstrike, one of the few things the gamepad did well
Three inkstrikes without the lengthy “hold your ears and cross your fingers that you launch before getting splatted” Sign me up!
Splatoon logic of making a new Special is taking a pre-existing Special and making it smaller and more scattered.
Will definitely try this one out
Looks good. But does not cover much ground when it hits .
Inkstrike was a classic. Always set it off just before the timer. Tenta Missiles are kind of similar in Splatoon 2, but you don't have full freedom of where it lands.
I'm all about this. Love it.
I had to ban myself from using inkstrike on several maps, really any map you could get a solid high ground from the backline. Stack gear for super. Pew pew, ink strike, repeat.
"I like to call that... TRIPLE TENTACLES OF TERROR!"
Keep they hype train coming!
