One of the ways Sega celebrated 30 years of Sonic the Hedgehog last year was by transforming the blue blur into a VTuber. This was followed by his lovable sidekick Tails receiving the same treatment and now it's Knuckles' time to shine.
Yes, that's right - in another official Sonic livestream in Japan, Knuckles has made his debut as a VTuber - delivering a message alongside Sonic. It seems like the perfect time, considering how much success Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (featuring Knuckles) has had at the box office.
Knuckles wasn't the only new VTuber to make an appearance, either. Amy Rose was also teased at the last minute. You can see her around in action at the 01:56:00 mark in the YouTube livestream recording below:
If you're not clued up on VTubers, they're 3D streamers voiced by real people. Sonic and Tails have received English versions, so we'll be sure to let you know if Knuckles and Amy follow.

They're pumping these out pretty quickly, I don't have a problem with them at all, though I won't be watching 'em. I do find it really cool how similar the Japanese voices sound to the English ones though (besides maybe Amy and kinda Knuckles).

Eventually we'll have Robotnik becoming a Vtuber as well, and it will be nothing but PINGAS.
I'm not really a fan of any kind of "automatic animation", and I prefer the classic style to the modern style Sonic character designs, so I wasn't particularly interested in these things, but I actually ended up finally watching the (English) Tails tube episode earlier today, as it came up as recommended after I watched the Origins trailer for the millionth time.
The "animation" is crappy, but it was actually more entertaining and well written than I imagined, and went into some cool lore that I hadn't heard before - like a valid explanation for why some Sonic games have human characters and some are animals only that actually makes a whole lot of sense. Also amused me how they referenced unusual naturally occurring checkerboard rock/earth sediments.
Hopefully they bring Knuckles and Amy episodes out, with equally well-written scripts. That Amy model looks adorable in motion, and her Japanese voice is super cute! I love when she's included in stuff.
Just give us everyone at this point.

Considering how I ran into a VTuber in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links once (who apparently was a big Tyranno Hassleberry fan), this doesn’t surprise me.
