Update [Tue 12th Apr, 2022 01:35 BST]: Sega has now officially confirmed this Character Pack DLC for Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will be coming this Summer. It will include six characters across a series of periodic updates. Sega will reveal more about this DLC in the coming months.
The “Additional Character Pack” is a series of paid downloadable content featuring several new characters that can be used in the Versus mode of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles (both locally and online). The first release scheduled for this summer will feature Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps who engaged in a fierce battle against demons in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc anime. Take a first look at the visual of Tengen Uzui created based on an in-game 3D model below:

- Nezuko (Advanced Demon Form)
- Tanjiro (Entertainment District)

Original article [Thu 7th Apr, 2022 06:05 BST]: It seems Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles - the video game based on the insanely popular anime and manga series - will be receiving several new playable fighters via DLC character packs.
This paid DLC will be coming to the game's Versus Mode and was supposedly revealed in the latest Weekly Jump (via Ryokutya2089). A Switch port of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles was confirmed in February, and will arrive on Nintendo's hybrid platform on 10th June.
Here are the DLC fighters reportedly on the way:
- Tengen Uzui
- Daki
- Gyutaro
- Nezuko Kamado (Awakened Form)
- Tanjiro Kamado (Entertainment District Arc)
- Zenitsu Agatsuma (Entertainment District Arc)
- Inosuke Hashibira (Entertainment District Arc)
The Switch version of Demon Slayer can be purchased via the eShop and will also be available from Sega's website in physical form. Pre-orders are now live and come with a bonus character unlock key for Kimetsu Academy Tanjiro Kamado.
Here's a bit about this upcoming Nintendo version that combines story, adventure and fighting elements into one exciting series based on the anime series. The Switch release will also include everything the other versions already have:
"Switch players can look forward to all the amazing features found on other platforms, including all the post-launch content added to the game like the six new playable characters—Rui, Akaza, Susamaru, Yahaba, Enmu, and Yushiro & Tamayo; new online missions that reward Kimetsu Points to unlock additional rewards; and all the balance changes made to the game’s combat."

Excited for this. The Entertainment District arc is easily the best arc of Demon Slayer so far.
We knew about Tengen for a long time now thanks to a leak, but I was hoping to see the demons and Awakened Nezuko as well and they're coming.
Great news. Nezuko looks amazing in her new form, so definetly gonna try her out. ^_^
If the game is not even out yet then why are they announcing characters that won't be in the base game? If you already got these characters plan Sega then just delay the game, add these characters to the full roster, and then release it. If in the near future ilyou wanted to add more characters then do DLC. DLC should not be announced before the release of a game, gamers don't want to hear about cut contents from a base game that is not even out yet.

Unless you are saying the game just isn't out on the switch, thats fine but your whole argument makes no sense because the game is out, just not on the switch.
NL was just talking about the game because it will come to the switch at some point, if you would like them, to not talk about till it comes out, thats fine I guess.

@Rachel_NES I know that, but there talking about the games DLC like the game isn't even out yet. They said "If the game is not even out yet then why are they announcing characters that won't be in the base game?" So thats why I thought they were just saying the game never came out, just a misunderstanding, I have no idea why they had to be so rude about it.

@Specter_of-the_OLED As noted in the article, this is a Switch port. The game has been out on PlayStation and other platforms since October 2021. And as mentioned in the PR, this version will include everything the other versions have, just not this upcoming fighter DLC.

i've only seen a bit of demon slayer (busy with ousama ranking, baki, utena...numerous other anime 😂) but what's really remained in my mind were those two huge orange swords from it proplica showed off recently

It would have been cool to get Makio, Suma and Hinatsuru instead of yet another three versions of the protagonists. Oh well, Tengen and Gyutaro will be fun.
Calling it now, Gyutaro or Tengen are probably going to be broken characters as both are dual wielders

Does it not concern anyone else that the only source linked to is an unofficial source without any proof of it's own? I couldn't find any official source to corroborate this, am I going wacky? Why should I believe this is true?

I'm not sure how well this game will run on Switch, its a ps5/ps4 crossgen release after all.
I certainly wouldn't order it before i read some reviews.
