A new leak has revealed nine new Nintendo-themed Lego sets are on the way, one of which will cost $229.99 – the same amount the NES Lego set retailed for (thanks, VGC).
The sets were discovered as listings on Eugene Toy & Hobby under the codename ‘Leaf’ – the same codename used for all of the products in the line. The listings were taken down shortly after being discovered, but the numbers relate to listings spotted by German Lego fansite Promobricks last year. The site was not aware that the listings were Nintendo-related at that time.
Promobricks says that eight of the nine sets will release on August 1, 2022. The most expensive set will release on October 1, 2022.
Here are the set numbers:
- 71403 TBC – $59.99
- 71404 TBC – $9.99
- 71405 TBC – $19.99
- 71406 TBC – $29.99
- 71407 TBC – $79.99
- 71408 TBC – $129.99
- 71409 TBC – $69.99
- 71410 TBC – $5.99
- 71411 TBC – $229.99
It's likely that many of these sets will be part of the growing Super Mario line, but set 71411 carries an 18 rating, which means it will join the Lego NES and the $169 Super Mario 64 Question Block in the company's adult-focused range.

Its not going to happen but I would kill for a Comet Observatory lego set for galaxy, that or the starship mario.
Its never gonna happen, but man would that be a dream.
Didn’t eugene toy and hobby also leak the horizon zero dawn set last year that was revealed 2 days ago?
An SNES would be very cool. As long as it’s the European/Japanese one!
I don't see why people could get excited about this. Who in their right mind wants their console to.... brick?
In all seriousness though, inject this into my veins immediately. I LOVE Lego.
I wonder if these are possibly tied to the Mario movie coming out.
Hoping it's based off the movie. Doubt it since that would likely be the winter wave if anything but movie sets would mean we could finally get traditional minifig sets
I hate adult things.
LEGO bricks + adult things = Cursed!
@nessisonett honestly I agree, the North American one isn’t bad by any means, but the European one is definitely better looking. Hope you’re doing well pal!
I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE SNES LEGO VERSION JUST YESTERDAY !! 🤯
yeesh LEGO getting pricey there, ha ha. would love more Nintendo sets if they looked and were more like the "regular" LEGO. even though I'm not the biggest fan, I'd buy.
@Anti-Matter just because you don't like something doesn't mean it'll be cursed bud. why not wait and see instead? who knows, you might even like what's coming
@fighting_game_player
I don't need to wait.
I will never like adult things.
I’d have to think they’re going to make Lego Animal Crossing
Yes but the GameCube would be more easier to build that a Super Nintendo, it's a like a big purple LEGO brick.
@Anti-Matter Dude when they say adult things, they mean its a lego that is more of a collective item then it is for playing with it.
They don't mean R rated stuff LOL.
It will go great next to my Lego NES!
@Anti-Matter Don’t worry, it’s not a big LEGO willy or something, it just means it’s a collector’s item 😂😂😂😂
@Anti-Matter adult in lego means the set is expensive and hard to build, not actually 18+ content.
Lego rates the age advice of their sets based on difficulty of the build. + all Direct to consumer sets and ideas sets get an automatic 18+ rating.
Hear me out.....R.O.B the Robot.
@nessisonett Thanks, now I have that in my mind. How would one even build one with a straight face LMAO....No i'm not looking it up.
@nessisonett well that image is never gonna leave my head now…
@PARK1755 IKR? LOL.
@Anti-Matter Adult for Lego means that it's designed for adults. Their whole "Adults welcome"-line. These are more display pieces / collectibles.
It's more because Lego discovered that a lot of adults like building Lego sets, either alone and with their kids. So, they made these bigger sets.
@Angelic_Lapras_King That would be perfect. It would all come full circle: ROB started out as a toy, became a video game character in Smash and now returns to his origins. Amazing.
I'm curious about what set 71411 will be. I just recently put together the Mario 64 ? Block and enjoyed that particular build!
Honestly I hope they'll either make a Hyrule castle or Peach castle set, similar to the Disney castle and Hogwarts castle.
I’m not sure they are Mario: the outfits are £8.99 and then they jump up to £16.
My money is on Animal Crossing. That’s such an obvious idea for a range.
And surely Zelda is on the cards?
@Anti-Matter The reason the set is 18+ has to do with how difficult the build is. I just put together the Mario 64 ? Block set with the same rating, and everything with it is visually kid friendly. But there are many small pieces, and the blocks have to be put together a certain way. A young kid would have a lot of trouble putting it together on their own.
The adult one is Chris Pratt's face in the style of the Mario 64 title screen (complete with white glove.) You can stretch and contort his face by adding bricks.
That reminds me I still want the NES set.
There goes all my money! I love the NES set, I bought/built that last fall, it’s amazing! I can’t wait to see the new ones! 🤩
A Lego set for every Mario 64 level would be cool.
I love Lego but my lord why does it have to be prohibitively expensive?
Think I'm optimistic, but I doubt it'll be the SNES due to the American/Rest of the world differences in design, but instead, as it's releasing October 1st, the long awaited Zelda Breath of the Wild set
Lego is destroying my wallet this year! First the new jurassic park t rex escape and horizon set, but now a new 200 nintendo set. I'm hoping it's a full on peaches castle, with some of the paintings from 64, and minifigs of mario and company since they're long overdue. Most likely though it is just going to be an snes which is kinda underwhelming.
An official Zelda set is loooong overdue. Animal Crossing and Metroid sets would be pretty cool too.
@Anti-Matter
18 plus in lego does not mean the same thing as 18 plus in games or movies. It basically means that the set may be more difficult for people under 18.
-Stop acting like a child and try to be a grown up!
-Yes honey i bought a Lego set for adults for just 230 euro. Its a collectors items for mature people not a toy..
I always want these things but really they are so expensive. Worse than that though is I have nowhere to display them. Still tempted by the Sonic one though. Hopefully Nintendo plucks out a Pikmin set 😍
@dimi You forgot:
Erm, code name "Leaf"?
Well that's obviously going to the Animal Crossing
Are we finally getting minifigures? That's the one thing I've wanted since the theme started
glad I wasn't the only one who had strange thoughts about the adult set 😂
Just brought the nearly 300 quid daily bugle and now this? Rip wallet bruh
I heard a rumour that Peaches Castle was coming 🏰
Ha! Eugene Toy and Hobby is down the street from my house!
Please make a Super Mario RPG Forest Maze or Tadpole Pond set! Or even a giant diorama of the overworld.
@Sasmondo
As Much as I'd like that, Lego already released the SM64 Block, and that includes Peach's castle.
LEGO SNES would be cool, but I'm personally hoping for a Mario Sunshine ? Block. Haven't heard anybody talk about this, so I'd really like to see it, maybe a Galaxy one too
@Marioman2020 I hear ya. I like the current Mario sets but is a shame they didn’t go mini figure scale with them. Perhaps they are saving that for Zelda sets! 🤞🏼
