If you're open to cloud games on the Nintendo Switch, you might want to keep an eye out for Dying Light 2: Stay Human - arriving next month on February 4th.
In the final episode of 'Dying 2 Know' earlier today, Techland officially confirmed a four-player co-op mode. You can not only play the game in co-op, but you can also finish the entire game in co-op. Hosts will be able to invite their friends into their game (and the players will all keep their own possessions and progress).
As an added bonus, players will also be able to make choices about the way the story goes thanks to a voting system. You can learn more and get a sneak peek of this mode around the 20-minute mark in the video below:
The same broadcast also featured the following trailer for the game:
Will you be returning to the land of the undead when Dying Light 2 gets a cloud release on the Switch next month? Tell us below.

@Pickledthethird it's a cloud game. There's no native switch version
@Pickledthethird its a cloud game
This is the only cloud game I may be ever tempted to purchase, if only for the excellent work they did porting the first Dying Light to run natively on Switch. This company has proved to me that they are willing to make the effort to put a huge game like that on Switch, so I'm more willing to accept that in this case, such a thing was not possible.
Still, I probably won't get the game because cloud gaming usually is a terrible deal for the consumer, but I appreciate the effort.
I've tried a few cloud game demo's but the Switch clearly isn't build to support cloud gaming. Constant network issue's and one of the worst cases of input lag. Even compared to other cloud gaming services.
You'd better use things like Geforce Now or XBOX Cloud Gaming for better performance.
Tried a couple demos on the cloud, played alright but had enough noticable input lag that I'll be passing on anything cloud based on the switch.
Will still get the first Dying Light when there's a decent enough discount one day though.
I absolutely love the Dying Light platinum edition on Switch. It’s the only game I’ve been playing since it released on Switch. I own the physical version.
I would love to see and play Dying Light 2 on Switch but not as a cloud game. I don’t believe cloud games work well on Switch combined that technically you are basically paying a premium price to own nothing.
If they release a demo, I may download that to see if it would change my stance on cloud gaming, but I very much doubt it will.
@Kochambra I’d recommend Final Fantasy 7. It’s a really good ‘Cloud’ game.
@Liam “Can get a sneak peak around the 20 minute mark..”
The video isn’t even 20 minutes long!
So, no switch release. Anyway, when it goes on discount, I will buy the first. I loved it on the PC.
Don't do cloud gaming, especially on switch. I tried a few demos and they ran like garbage and the lag was insane, seriously why do they even bother with this whole switch-cloud nonsense.
@sanderev thank you for your research. I've been trying to pinpoint my hesitance to try a Switch cloud game. I'm a weirdo in that I actually have embraced streaming. I often use Steam Link and PS Play to play outside of my bedroom, I have subs to Game Pass, Luna, GE Force, PS Now, Stadia, and a cloud Shadow PC. I've basically spent the week playing Octopath on Stadia, and I actually have it physically on Switch and on Steam lol. So I haven't been able to figure why I refuse to try a Switch cloud game. It sounds like they have similar issues as PS Now, which if all the services I mentioned is the one I never recommend.
Even though I played the original dying light on pc, I bought it again on Switch because I love the game and they clearly put a lot of effort into it.
I'm not messing around with cloud games though so I'll be playing DL2 elsewhere
Unfortunately I won't be playing Dying Light 2 on Switch. I do absolutely love Dying Light Platinum Edition for Switch though! I was going to buy Dying Light 2 for PS5, but after recently purchasing an Xbox Series X, I'll probably buy it for Xbox so I can play co-op with a friend...
Can't see online co-op working well when you're already using internet connection to stream the game
Not interested in cloud gaming at all
I'll wait for a nice discount on either Xbox or Sony.
