Nintendo has shared an updated list of Europe's most-downloaded Switch eShop games, revealing which titles were the most popular during November 2021.
It's perhaps no surprise to see that the new Pokémon games have done the business this month, with both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl claiming first and second spots respectively. Mario Party Superstars isn't far behind in third, and the rest of the list is made up of familiar favourites and indie hits.
You can check out the full list below. It's based on the number of Nintendo eShop downloads (so no physical sales) in European territories during the whole month:
- Pokémon Brilliant Diamond
- Pokémon Shining Pearl
- Mario Party Superstars
- Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Shin Megami Tensei V
- Minecraft
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Unpacking
- Among Us
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Ruined King: A League of Legends Story
- Stardew Valley
- FIFA 22
- Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story
Did you download any of these titles on Switch last month? Any surprises in the top 15? Tell us below.

Not surprised to see SMT V pretty high up considering there are no physical copies available anywhere.
Glad to see SMT V doing well, I'm 60 hours in and still no game fatigue setting in. Great game!
Meanwhile, the haters from faraway...
But... But.. Pokemon BDSP is rubbish, lack of contents, lazy effort, awful graphics but peoples still like it ?!
Peoples must be crazy and have very bad gaming taste. Yuck !!
Shame on you peoples !!
I hate all of you for keep defending cash grab Pokemon games !
With Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition being that high up it shows that games from some franchises will sell regardless. Some franchises are just too big to fail even if the game releases as a broken mess.
@MajorTom to be fair, GTA Trilogy was riding high on the eShop on preorders alone, before it became apparent just how bad it was.
Meanwhile Yuji Naka looks at the number 4 listing, cries quietly into his Sake and wonders why his broken mess of a game couldn't hit those heady heights.
@AmplifyMJ That can be said for every major eShop release right? Are there any statistics that prove the pre-orders for GTA far outweigh the sales after release on the eShop?
No sign of Metroid Dread in the top 15?
Surprised to see GTA at number 4. I guess I'm not the only one having fun with it. It's been less than a month and it's already become one of my most played titles.
@Anti-Matter honestly the only thing bad about it is the horrible chibi artstyle. The in battle models looks so much better.
@iLikeUrAttitude I suppose with the Metroid playerbase still being considered "niche", it might not be such a big surprise to see it's gone out of the top 15 by now. I am surprised to see Mario Kart 8 still there, however. But most of all I'm shocked to see GTA so high up there. I suppose just like with Pokémon it is a loud minority that won't be picking the game up.
Metroid Dread has fallen off a cliff…
@Oswinner
It's fine. Samus' power suit will absorb the impact, and she will then grapple beam back up.
@OldPierre77 Yeah, I know the difference is staggering between the quality of Pokémon BD/SP and GTA. That's why I didn't bother getting the latter
But apparently a lot of people are still buying the games, which is why I'm saying there's a loud minority that's not picking the game up. Otherwise GTA wouldn't be in the top 15.
Pokémon proving the vocal minority wrong again lol
@Screen What does this proof exactly? Something selling well does not disprove valid criticism. Does it mean that the GTA trilogy did not release in a broken almost unplayable state because it is the 4th best selling game?
@MajorTom no but the fact it has dropped heavily, 25 as I type this, might back my theory up.
@AmplifyMJ At the 21st of November it was still on spot 3 of the eShop charts in Europe which was 10 days after its release on 11 November. Yep it seems like it slumped down to spot 23 in Europe right now. Still most games don't have that big legs after a month of their release. Metroid Dread is not even in the top 30 of Europe right now as I type this.
@MajorTom yeah, the eShop is weird though, any given title’s current position is based on the previous two weeks sales. So up to two weeks after release, its position will be made up of a combination of pre-orders and live sales. I’d say it will continue to sell, and have spikes when they continue to improve and inevitably discount it.
SMT V is the only game listed that I'm interested in, lol
