Turnabout Big Top was voted the 7th best case in the series. This poll is invalid.
@nessisonett but its so underrated! extremely sad outcome as well, I really liked it. And its about the biggest impression
Love how Larry Butz is the favorite client as well
Original 3 Phoenix Wright games were so much fun
Why the heck did they put Kasuma above Barok and Godot?
I'm kind of surprised that Barok van "I Will Never Forgive the Nipponese" Zieks scored so high in a Famitsu poll.
I'm guessing people aren't fans of Dual Destinies, which was my introduction into the series (and my favorite entry). Ditto with Athena Cykes, who is also my favorite lawyer in the series (along with Mia Fey).
2-3 being in the top 10 cases must have been a troll, right? Universally agreed to be the least interesting case of the first trilogy. Same goes for Wendy Oldbag winning her category for sure.
I’m ready for a new game in this series.
@Savage_Joe Great Ace Attorney Chronicles being the most recent release gave all those characters a bump.
@dsparil - That doesn't really explain why Kazuma specifically is so popular. Also, the GAA games aren't that new for Japanese fans, as they (obviously) got the original 3DS releases back in 2015 and 2017 respectively, so I'm not sure how much of an impact that would have.
@nessisonett - Technically, the question is asking which case left the biggest impression, so I'd imagine it could go both ways really (in this case, TBT being so bad it ended up leaving the harshest impression on people's minds).
...Either that, or people in Japan really do like this case, but I'm hoping it's the former.
Most of this isn't too surprising, but the one thing that stood out to me (outside the aforementioned case) is Kazuma's popularity. Overall, not only is he by far the most popular character from the GAA games, but out of everyone in the franchise, he's only beaten out by the main trio (Phoenix, Maya and Edgeworth) which, for me at least, seems a bit weird. Is there some reason why he, specifically, is so popular?
I can only imagine the judge from phoenix wright's cases wasn't a voting option as he's nowhere to be seen. His borderline incompetence was often a highlight for me
When something smells it's usually the Butz. Glad to see Larry doing so well.
@dsparil I know that's the case, but Barok is such a well written character who became my favorite prosecutor ever, and Godot has one of the best backstories of the series. Kasuma is like, let's die here early and appear way late in the next game, his impact after that wasn't much to write home about.
@Savage_Joe Woah, get some spoiler tags over that!!!
Barok von Zieks is ranked higher than Godot?! I'm still playing the second game, so maybe he gets fleshed out a lot near the end, but so far he's still near the bottom of my list of favorite prosecutors.
lolol at least there's justice for Turnabout Big Top. Severely underrated case.
Barok van who? I'm a bit lost with some of these characters but wow, I'm surprised by some of these, I always thought Von Karma was at least as popular as Godot. And that Trucy doesn't come close to Maya or even Kay.
But on the other hand I'm glad to not see Blackquill here kind of a lame, generic character. Honestly Gavin is the same, his theme music is just nostalgic at this point.
Isn’t Diego Armando essentially Godot?
@nessisonett agree! There were clearly trolls involved. Same w/ GAA1 - 2
Mia is best lawyer periodt. She carries Phoenix to the finish line in the first trilogy.
Wow Kazuma on number 4? I don't dislike the guy I but I do find him a bit dull.
Big Top being up there is pretty wack but I admit for a ''filler'' case it was one of the more memorable turnabouts.
The real reason this list is invalid is because Winston Payne is nowhere on it
@Ralizah I knew you spammed those 158 votes for Big Top!! 😂
@nessisonett It already had the tags since I posted it
I can't believe Larry Butz and Wendy Oldbag ranked so highly! Their entire existence is all about trolling poor Phoenix 😅
I like the case itself for Turnabout Big Top, but there's SO MUCH hopping around from one location to another trying to trigger the next conversation. I have similar feelings about Turnabout Samurai.
@KateGray But they troll him so well!
@KateGray Larry is a legend! He is literally like a mix of all the anime companion stereotypes
@nessisonett It's always funny to me when the Japanese and Western fanbases split wildly on certain things. I actually had heard the case wasn't as hated in Japan as it seems to be everywhere else, and now we seem to have some solid data to support that.
Ranking it higher than SoJ's final case is... something, though.
Miles Edgeworth the best overall character? Why, yes, I do agree with it
Wendy Oldbag favorite witness? Get outta here!
Not gonna lie, I loved Von Zieks. One of my favorite prosecutors.
Gotta agree with the confusion on Kazuma being so high up. Like, he’s fine, but not really much to write home about when you compare him to any other main character from DGS.
And hilarious to see the strange Turnabout Big Top love indeed. Max Galactica even makes it on the best client list! Nice to see that that different countries has different preferences for cases.
[minor GGA spoilers?] wow kazuma and van zieks being so high must really show the impression they left in the series (or maybe how theyre the freshest in our minds since its the newest installment?). im still beating GAA2 so now im curious to see what their legacies leads too.
kazuma kinda reminds me of mia, but with his presence lingering without the need of spirit mediums. the cast in general is really great in GAA, we get repeat characters in both games but it gives us a chance to see them developed or cleverly mixed in with the story. im especially curious about van zieks, he's the first prosecutor to not personally have connections with the defense from what ive seen. he leaves a pretty weak impression in GAA1 but they seem to be delving more into it in GAA2
My girl Adrian got robbed of favorite witness. Nobody can top her glasses breaking loop animation.
raymond shields got ROBBED, uncle ray was one of the best parts of AAI2
Lol Big Top is definately the lowest point in the entire series.
@Aurumonado that title really goes to turmabout storyteller, the worst case ever
Polly the parrot
Number 2 favorite witness
Almost double what number 3 (Larry) got.
It baffles the mind
Happy to see Harry Butts... err Larry Butz here but where is the greatest prosecutor of them all... Winston Payne??
