IT'S TIME. After the tease earlier this week, we were expecting to see a release date reveal for the much-awaited second part of Minecraft's Caves & Cliffs update, and now we have it:

November 30th.

In a developer blog posted today, here's what the company had to say about what to expect:

"Part II gives the mountains and caves that you know and love a makeover. Updated terrain generation, higher peaks, more elaborate cave systems – even the ore veins are larger!"

However, they also mention some items and features that have been postponed, noting that they won't be in the 1.19 Wild Update either, but put "on the backburner" until they've figured out how to add them "in the best possible way".

Here are the things that won't be added in update 1.18, Caves & Cliffs Part II:

  • Archaeology
  • Goat horns
  • Bundles

But there's good news too: We will be getting candles!

The update will release on all consoles, across Bedrock Edition and Java Edition, simultaneously on November 30th, for free.

What are your thoughts on the Caves & Cliffs Part II release? Are you disappointed about archaeology being removed, or excited about the new world generation? Let us know in the comments!
