Earth Atlantis arrived on the Switch eShop over four years ago, catching the eye with its hand-drawn visual style and its shoot 'em up 'monster hunting' approach. We were big fans in our original review and it's a title that's probably dropped into a number of libraries through big sales on the download store.
For keen physical edition collectors in North America it's been a long wait, but now publisher VGNYsoft is stepping in to bring a physical release to the region; it's worth noting that it's NA only, as international shipping isn't an option.

Planning a Q1 release, pre-sales are open on the distributor's official store with two editions - Standard ($34.99USD) and Elite ($39.99USD); the latter is limited to 4000 copies.

They look like quite nice editions, let us know in the comments whether you're tempted to add them to the collection.

You’d have to be insane to buy this on physical, it’s regularly on sale for less than £2
I somehow missed this, it looks great! I’ll track the physical copy down. Posted before I saw the above post, $2 is hard to beat
I love indie games getting a physical, I just wasn't very taken with this one.
Congratulations in advance on selling 131 copies.
Its been out for over 4 years and only now they are creating a physical?
I had completely forgotten about this game, and loved the look, hmm I might have to bite, depends on the cost of shipping to UK though
Update: Dont deliver to that region, ah well
This is nice and all, but i think reporting on how Eschatos and Illvelo Swamp come out on Switch in Japan this week is the more important event for Switch-owning shmup fans right now.
I mean, Illvelo Swamp even gets a physical release, and importing a game from Japan/Asia is not more of a hassle then importing a game from America for the large EU/UK part of your readership.
(Don't get me wrong, it's really nice your reporting on physical releases of small games like this, i just think considered the Switch is region-free, NintendoLife's coverage of interesting japanese releases could be expanded.)
YESSSS!!!!!
If this game can get a physical release after 4 years, there's hope for GRID Autosport yet!
But who ever asked for this? I bought this eventually after always being drawn to the art style. Have played it for about 8 minutes. Not saying it's a bad game, but my immediate experience of it did not lure me in, from what I can remember.
@Bunkerneath
VGNYSoft and PixelHeart.eu are sister-sites of sorts, whilst PixelHeart haven't announced anything yet they might have EU region copies of Earth Atlantis in the future.
Another one for the Nintendo pack rats
@RupeeClock Hope so,I've waited yonks for this physical.
@GrailUK
Actually, you might have another option here:

This site is a Canadian based seller that ships to the EU.
Woof.
In my opinion, this game does not merit this price. The art style is interesting but gives everything a feeling of "sameness" after about 10 minutes. The gameplay is shallow and can be an unrewarding grindfest especially with some of the earlier boss fights you'll stumble across. The music is pretty bad in places, conflicts with the theme of the game at times, and there's not much of it.
I watched this one closely when it came out as there was a physical release on PS4. I'm glad I went with one of its many digital sales under $5 instead.
I mean, the game's okay I guess? Weird one to go physical.
This game was incredibly disappointing. So much backtracking. So much cheapness. So much time spent trying to get powered-up because otherwise you'd get to a boss and die. But then you do get powered-up and something unfair happens and you lose all your powers. But rather than dying, you traipse all over the map trying to get powered-up again, and half the time you get some weapon that you don't want so you have to keep traipsing. Rinse and repeat. Also, this game ruined my eyes and now I have to wear glasses (okay, it might not have been the game's fault specifically, but staring at those bland graphics while being incredibly frustrated over the endless backtracking gave me horrible headaches, which were the first sign that maybe I should get my eyes checked out... so maybe I owe this game a debt of gratitude afterall).
@kurtasbestos This ! You've summed it up perfectly. It's intriguing looking but ends up incredibly disappointing. I already wore glasses when I played it so maybe I was immune from its side effects.
