It's almost time, with Sora and version 13.00 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate imminent, bringing an end to an era for one of the system's most popular titles. Masahiro Sakurai and his team have put together an enormous roster and feature set, ensuring that the 'Ultimate' in the name is no hyperbole.
With the big moment so close, over the weekend the marvellous Jon Cartwright shared a video on our YouTube channel that showcases his extensive collection with the fun spin of showing games for each member of the roster. That's a lot of games.

It's a nice long watch so be sure to grab a beverage along with a cosy chair before hitting that play button.

Great collection. Great voice
Gotta love Jon!
This is so cute, cozy and fun. Still really glad Jon joined Nintendo life! 😊❤️
Really love the collection and all the little backstories. It inspired me to write down some of mine too!
Super Smash Bros Ultimate now has 89(!) characters representing 40 unique franchises.
Now think about how many unique entries (excluding re-releases and ports) there have been from those 40 series? That's mind boggling! 🤯 There really aren't many (if any!) crossover video games as ambitious as this.
Europe has the least pleasing box art, spines, and ratings
That's nice, how about a game for every spirit? 😅
@InkIdols I always mute videos that start with "pegi 16" and such. Ugh. lol
@BloodNinja Same here. Compared to NA & Japan, the pegi ratings just look WRONG
This is a fun video so far 20 mins in. Thank you Jon and NL!
Would you consider mentioning the Mii wear that also reference to past games? I wish the characters would still keep coming.....at least via Mii outfits! This is a game if you ask me, a history in the making!
@InkIdols why does it look wrong?
@InkIdols Definitely. Must be a pain for European collectors, those labels things look ugly as sin.
@BloodNinja At least the the switch is region free, so can import our options
@Magrane They stick out like a sore thumb. Compare them to the esrb, which is far more subtle.
@InkIdols Good point! I did that for Rockman X collection, so I don't have to deal with the lousy American version that had the digital code.
@BloodNinja I've gotten LC 1 digital, so will go that route for the others as well. Speaking of Mega Man, I'd love to see wily wars on the genesis app!
@InkIdols Wily Wars needs an official Switch release. I believe that port had input lag, so they should fix that, as well.
@BloodNinja Yeah. any way to get on switch would be nice
@InkIdols Random, but the recent release of Gleylancer is making me hope for Hyper Duel, Virtual On, and Batsugun. A man can dream!
@BloodNinja i'm personally all in favor of more services, regardless of liscening cost. i'd love to see these
@InkIdols Not a fan of services, but I know they make a lot of people happy from the convenience they offer. Imagine a physical re-release on Switch of Hyper Duel? The Saturn disc is usually between $600-$1200!
@BloodNinja Yeah, that would be nice. the former option is more convinient for a new collecter like myself
I think I might have a game for every character.
Including real copies of Mother 3 and Fire Emblem: The Binding Bland (none of that "translated repro" funny business. I got a flashcart and emulator if I want to play those).
Well maybe not Minecraft. It just didn't strike my interest but I can see why other people like it.
Love when Jon and Zion show off their collections. About time Alex did one, right???
