PLATINUMROCKET's Smashing the Battle series first hit Switch back in April of 2019 and soon it'll be back in the form of Smashing the Battle Ghost Soul.
This 3D hack and slash revamp/sequel sees players return to battling robot enemies using a variety of combo-tastic moves in a brand new chapter of the fast-paced single player arcade adventure. If you missed out on the first Switch game, the trailer above gives a decent idea of what the game's about, and here's a little textual flavour of what to expect from the official PR blurb, too (plus a couple of pics):

You battle against robots using standard attacks, as well as combo attacks. By crushing the enemy, you can open up the way forward. By attacking the enemy, you can gain skill points, allowing you to unleash devastating attacks on large groups of enemies all at once. After clearing each stage, use the coins you have collected to strengthen your character, allowing you to take on even more enemies. You can also use coins to purchase different costumes with various abilities.
The first game in the series didn't score too many reviews of its Switch incarnation back when it initially released but the PC version is sat on a mostly positive review rating over on Steam, with fans pointing to some surprisingly well developed combat mechanics and tough challenge modes.
From what we've seen of this one so far, it looks pretty tasty and this new entry even comes with the original game included, so you'll be able to catch up if, like us, you missed it first time around.

I’d give it a shot (and this may seem petty) if they just got rid of the 80’s porn music at the title screen and options menu. Having the character bounce whilst the music is playing, isn’t helping matters either. Just a bit more class and I’d try it. I’m not bothered by T&A, just how it’s presented.
Until I saw this I completely forgot the first game even existed, and this is coming from someone who actually bought it.
It was a fun enough game, but I never finished it as it became a bit to repetitive (it had a great deal of artwork to unlock though, much of which was fan art I believe, which was really cool). Unfortunately this doesn't look like it's going to shake things up, aside from the more detailed character models.
For a moment I thought it said booba kill
I played the first one. Found the gameplay very meh. I like the character designs but there needs to be substance to back up the T&A.
anime girls = check
big breast = check
yup, they know the fans so well this going to sell well 👀
I bought the original but it was way too repetitive. Loved the character designs in the game and it seems the sequel has even better ones, but the gameplay looks like it's going to be just as shallow. Shame.
I got the first one cause I thought it was going to be like Senran Kagura and it wasn't sadly.
The first was decent I guess, we'll see this one if it's any better.
@LegatoSkyheart yeah, unfortunately it's not. not that Senran Kagura is a masterpiece, but still...
@Realness where did u get to see & hear the title screen?
