Occasionally some rather colourful and charming budget titles win over a surprisingly large audience, like Toree 3D. Perhaps Mousebot: Escape from CatLab can do the same thing, time will tell.
Developed by Vector Unit, this has been on mobile for some time as a free-to-play game with microtransactions. It's now coming to Switch and other platforms on 21st July as a premium version with all of the previous content (and new stuff) included. That said, it'll only be $4.99USD and regional equivalents, with a further 20% off at launch.
It'll offer a decent number of stages (over 20 of them new) and an arcade mode, and we reckon it looks pretty charming for an inexpensive download. The PR feature list is below.
- 88 challenging mazes filled with traps and obstacles.
- Hilarious cartoon destruction! Try not to get crushed, stomped, zapped or blown to bits.
- Unlock new abilities! Run, jump and transform for land and water!
- Collect epic piles of cheese!
- Win new skins and accessories to customize MouseBot!
- Unlock the extra-fast, extra-nefarious new Arcade mode.
Are you tempted to put a few dollars down for this one?

I'm not exactly sure why, but that actually looks fun.
Oh yeah, I remember playing it a lot of time ago, it was alright, probably it's better if it's not free to play. Vector Unit also makes some good games usually.
Turns out I do like runner platformers, so I'll have to check this out.
I’m a sucker for a good auto runner. I’ve never seen this game before, but it looks unique relative to a lot of other runners. For $5, I’ll probably give this a shot.
It's a nice bit of fun this game and probably worth a few £ if there are no microtransactions. Has a certain charm and 'just one more go' element to it.
I'm interested... But I would have preferred a real mouse. I'm talking Mortal Kombat levels of gore! But in mouse form.
Looks cute for the price.
I'll give this mouse runner a try.
I will grab this, for sure!
I am not into runners too much these days, but I did play a few back in the day, and Vector Unit made my favourite runner of all time, Beach Buggy Blitz. I think it was a bit of a minor hit in 2012, and I loved it a lot! I am glad it eventually evolved into the Beach Buggy Racing series. Beach Buggy Racing 2 is sooo good (and totally up there with MK8!), but I do wish they'd port the original Beach Buggy Blitz over too!
And Hydro Thunder Hurricane, while they are at it
Awesome devs, and such a great racing studio - they've been plugging away with low-key and totally substantial arcade racers while nobody else would touch the genre. Vector Unit are totally underrated.
The hype for mobile looking games here always starts out with a positive article followed by a bad review or no review. Like they're being paid to write ads disguised as articles.
