Night Book

What year is it? Between Telling Lies, Her Story, Erica, Bandersnatch, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker, The Bunker, and that remake of Night Trap, you might be wondering whether FMV games are making a comeback, or you've just been in a coma for 25 years.

Well, we can't fully discount the coma theory, but FMV-focused studio Wales Interactive (developer of The Bunker and publisher of The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker) has two new FMV games on the horizon, and we're pretty sure they're real.

Night Book, due in July 2021, is about a pregnant woman who accidentally summons a demon into her home, and has to decide who she'll sacrifice in order to save both her life and that of her unborn baby. Night Book was entirely filmed during lockdown, as a remote shoot, and features multiple endings.

Deathtrap Dungeon: The Golden Room is based on the book by Ian Livingstone, the co-founder of Games Workshop and the choose-your-own-adventure Fighting Fantasy series. The game will come to Switch in 2022.
