Have you been keeping up with all the E3 announcements? Don't worry, us neither. There sure are a lot of games to spend all our hard-earned eShop Gold on, though, and one of those games is actually good for you.
Yes, if you've been neglecting your Ring Fit Adventure controller like we have, then maybe you can get back into the swing of things with Knockout Home Fitness, from Marvelous and XSEED (the makers of Story of Seasons and Rune Factory). It's a fitness game with "high-intensity workouts" inspired by martial arts, from karate to kung-fu. By holding the Joy-Cons in your hands, you'll be able to punch and chop your way to BUFFNESS.
If the reason you've been putting off using the Ring Fit is that you can't find time in the day to beat up Dragaux, then perhaps you'll enjoy Knockout's "3-Minute Fitness Mode", which is a high-intensity workout that takes less time than it does to make a cup of tea. If you've got slightly longer, there are daily workouts that take 15 minutes, and a Personal Training Mode that will automatically vary the exercises for you.
With a "My Report" mode that lets you track your progress, you'll be able to see if you're actually burning calories, and making progress. There are also over 25 music tracks and four different trainers, ranging from friendly to strict, depending on how you like to train.
Knockout Home Fitness is coming to the Nintendo Switch in Autumn 2021, so you can spend the entirety of Winter getting super hot, and really good at karate.

Where are the buff men? Anti won’t be too happy about this!
ooh boy another great app to get me in shape for two workouts before i stop playing it forever 😪
@nessisonett anti? as in, @Anti-Matter? This guy?
@ArtiomNLS Seems up his street, pretty sure he liked Fitness Boxing and all that!
Not everything needs to turn into the Anti side show.
@nessisonett can't disagree, strange that he hasn't shown up yet tho
Be good to have another game that uses the ring fit thing
As a long-time martial arts practitioner, this made me throw up in my mouth a little. Hopefully it exposes more people to martial arts and gets them to seek actual instruction, that would be beneficial.
BILLY BLANKS APPROVES
These exercise games just look like clones of each other except for ring fit.
You could probably have merged all of them together.
I love the idea of a martial arts-themed workout game, but I need some... well... substantive game in it. Why not have a campaign mode where you do routines in order to knock out tough opponents?
Although I get the feeling the game would just annoy me anyway. Motion controlled games rarely work well for me. Learned that from both Kinect and games like ARMS where the motion controls didn't want to work for me.
Ring Fit Adventure has massively spoiled me. It manages to be a lengthy, decent JRPG in addition to giving the player a real workout, and the game almost perfectly detects every body movement you do.
@nessisonett @ArtiomNLS
The male fitness trainer was only one. 😭
I wish there is more male fitness trainer options.
Well, I have to know the song list too.
wow, i want it. it will better than fitness boxing
AYYYYY WE SUMMONED ANTI-MATTER LETS GOOOO
@Anti-Matter they might get added later as paid dlc, who knows
Seems interesting, gotta move some stuff around to get some room in for those kicks.
I wonder if Nintendo would consider a co-production with Les Mills. This game looks like BodyCombat. The joycons would also be perfect to register BodyPump/ bodybalance moves.
This was already released in Japan some time ago (albeit under a different title, and without English support, but there's a demo available in the Japanese eShop for those that want to try it in advance).
I think I will pass on this one and wait to get my black belt for real when we come out of lockdown!!
@BloodNinja This is not martial arts lol, this is just your standard martial arts inspired aerobics workouts, been popular with the fitness trainer videos for decades now.
@JayJ Oh, I’m aware! I’ve been in BOTH businesses for a very long time, haha
I completely missed the announcement for this one, but I like the concept of this. Fitness Boxing 2 has gotten a bit stale, so being able to use that rhythm concept and expand it makes me excited. Very good. I wonder if we'll see a physical release?
