Broken Simulation and publisher Zerouno Games have announced that Green Phoenix, an on-rails space shooter planned to launch next week on Switch, has been delayed.
It was originally planned to launch on 27th May (at the time of writing the Switch eShop still displays this date), but will now release on 26th August. Zerouno Games says the game "does not represent the quality" the studio wishes to put out, hence the need for more time.
"Due to technical issues, the game does not represent the quality Zerouno Games believes it should reflect and, therefore, we are postponing the release of Green Phoenix for a calculated period of time in order to make this narrative experience as good as possible."
If this is the first time you're hearing about the game, it features a single-player story where a spaceship AI, known as Green Phoenix, remembers its dead pilot and embarks on a journey of revenge. You can get a taste of what to expect in the trailer above, or thanks to these screenshots:

It's got to be a wise decision for the developer as well. Most games only get attention and reviews (if any) at launch. How many people only read a marked down review and then pass over a game because of technical issues at launch, that may get patched later but never reported on.
This game is kinda interesting to me, and I could be swayed by a good review, if there isn't a demo.
First time seeing this. Initial impression is that it reminds me of Hyperburner on iPhone from a couple years ago (which I put a lot of time into).
Bravo. Absolutely nothing to apologise for.
Excellent decision!
Will buy just to support those guys
(Also I like those kinda games)
if only Cyber Punk 2077 would have taken this advice, the game may have been good. too many games are rushed out the door. and the company says we will patch it later. and look what happens. I will always stand by what Myamoto has always said . A delayed game can be good, a bad game is forever bad. I have a friend who has cyber punk on Xbox and even with all the patches he says the game still sucks. so go ahead and take your time. delay the game and make it right. it will be worth it.
Lemme guess... framerate problems?
I don't think this is any big loss.
