Slimes are so hot right now. Between Slime Rancher, Slime-san, and the mascot of Dragon Quest, people just can't get enough of these squishy little beasts. And, if you enjoyed the roguelike-meets-deckbuilder mechanics of Slay The Spire, now you can play that as a slime, too!
Rise of the Slime casts you as a blobby blue slime on a quest to become a hero, defeating enemies and progressing through the world through strategic card combat. The game — which is made by a solo developer in Riga, Latvia — has been in Early Access for a while, but now it's finally ready to slime its way onto the eShop on the 20th of May.
If you're a fan of roguelike-deckbuilders, you're probably already champing at the bit to give Rise of the Slime a go, but for those of you who aren't convinced, there's a demo available on the eShop, which will let you play through the first 30 minutes of the game.
Can't wait to become one with the slime? Or are you a little tired of roguelike deckbuilders for the slime being? Let us know in the comments.

I'm always up for more games like slay the spire.
Why no mention of Rimuru when cataloging popular slimes? Or, for those of culture, Suu?
@JimmySpades I see you are a man of culture as well
I just recently had the itch and dumped another 60 hours into Slay the Spire, after putting 20 on Ring of Pain. So not right away, but maybe eventually.
What a handsome protagonist.
Atelier Punis need love as well!
Just downloaded the demo; nice thus far but the text is waaaay too small for me to play it on handheld. And there doesn't seem to be an option to embiggen the font like in Spire.
