Capcom producer Peter Fabiano has announced his departure from the third-party Japanese company after 13 years.
He's described as one of the "most senior figures" involved with recent Resident Evil games. He oversaw the development of Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 3 remake, and before this was credited for the Resident Evil Revelations series and much more.
Fabiano has also worked on Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection and series like Devil May Cry as a producer. VGC notes the role of "producer" in Japan often involves a "mix of disciplines" and input in creative decisions. One other highlight is his role as the character Peter Walken in Resident Evil 7.
"Hard to write this best so I’ve decided to keep it simple: Thank you everyone at Capcom for allowing me to grow together with you over the past 13 years. I’m thankful and will cherish the experience forever."
In a follow-up message, Mr. Fabiano revealed he would be moving onto a new role at the Destiny developer, Bungie.
"I’ve taken a new position at Bungie working with some great people and continuing my journey. Eyes up guardian."
On behalf of the community here at Nintendo Life, we wish Peter all the best in his new position at Bungie.

No idea who he is, but happy for him, nonetheless.
It must have been his destiny calling.
awww that sucks I loved the games he's been involved in so far! especially the Resident Evil titles, I thought he'd be with Capcom for many more. but I hope to play some of his future games in other series anyway. best of luck to him!
"Why am I working so hard when there's microtransaction money to be made??"
LOL. Capcom is overtaking / replacing the RE4 Remake Team and doing cleaning after the RE3 Remake failure; Team 1 is taking place instead.
@priamXus I wouldn't call 3.6 millions copies sold of RE3 remake a failure.....
@deucezulu22 well, Capcom disagrees with you by dismantling RE3 Remake team. Sorry if you have bad taste.
@xxx128 You're definitely in the minority. Revelations, RE3 Remake and RE8 are all great. You remind me of all the people who act like Sakurai is the only one who develops Smash Bros, and target their anger accordingly. 🤷♂️
@EVIL-C minority that aligns with the parent company that created the game and thinks it’s a butchers job. This guy “leaving” proves it. He’s not leaving; Capcom is replacing almost everyone that took place in the development. Again, if you are a gamer from later generations than enjoys a crap job and for companies squeeze your money out of your pocket in sorry for you. I prefer to be with the minority and, again, align with the vision of the parent company that seems to be in disagreement with the “majority”. Village is proof of how a big failure RE3 Remake was along with the original players of the game.
@EVIL-C oh yes, let’s not forget; I really hope you are playing every day and enjoying RE Resistance because that’s were the majority of the budget went; in a game nobody asked for and they force you to buy and pay, which at the same time, although being a good idea was another crap.
@priamXus Ya it's too bad that you believe rumors thats were never confirmed or stated by Capcom. Sorry for you being so gullible.
@priamXus I'm probably older than you. I don't give a crap about RE: Resistance. Incredible how you assume everything, yet got 0% about me correct. Get lost.
I see a few people disliking Revelations as far as Resident Evil goes... ironically Revelations 1 on the 3DS was my first experience with RE, and Revelations 2 was my second.
I tried a mainline RE game and ended up disappointed that it didn’t seem to feel the same as those two games!
Love how his likeness is used in Resident Evil 7 as one of the Sewer Gators! This is sad for me as I found his work with reviving the formula very important (in saying that, not discounting the countless others involved) - I liked his unique voice and perspective on the franchise in a time where it had grown a bit stale. Wishing all the best for him!
I can't relate to a person who would want to work on a live service game instead of a beloved franchise like Resident Evil.
Maybe the working hours and pay are just so much better, I dunno.
@deucezulu22
Well, in Terms of Reputation the Game is very often called too short.
After the Series reached its low Point with six and reclaimed it critical Reputation with Press and Customers in newer Titles, you can see bad Reviews of one Game as a Failure, even if it sold well.
Good Managers see such Shortcomings and that fast Wins aren't something that necessary mean that it will stay as such if the IP is damaged.
But i would wish more that they change the Direction of Street Fighter
I think if this was really anything like some people are suggesting, him being fired cause of RE3, why do it so long after?
I think bungie-jumping is fun and all, but I wouldn't renounce a lucrative job at Capcom to dedicate my life exclusively to bungie.
@Azuris Ya, certain things were cut for RE3 remake, but calling it short is an overstatement when it comes to RE games in general.
Nonetheless, the general consensus when it comes to reviews is positive so it hasn't damaged the franchise at all. Fans are still begging for a remake of Code Veronica, so if anything the franchise is good and well.
Can't speak for Street Fighter, haven't played that franchise in over a decade.
