Nintendo has rolled out the third update for Miitopia in less than a week, so what's the reason this time? It better be good!
For once it's not just stability or minor fixes, this update adds support for the Nintendo Power-Up Band, which doubles as an amiibo. According to the patch notes for Version 1.0.3, if you show the Power-Up Band to a Nintendo fan, you will get a character outfit.
The power-up band is an accessory you can acquire at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan. Here's a look at what happened before this update, courtesy of the YouTube channel StormwindGames:

HA FIRST! also cool
I mean I guess it's cool but it's not like anyone outside of Japan can really get them lol.
Edit: seems like you can get them, but only at stores like eBay and for about $50. Pricey for a wristband that has the same in-game functionality as a $5 toy.
Ready to see people whine about this, honestly.
@HotGoomba eventually Super Nintendo World will open in other places outside of Japan so people can get them when that happens
No real need for me, I have the 6 amiibo for these costumes, but nice for those who don't have the figures but just happen to have the bands.
Sounds like something that won't be useful until 5 years from now when Super Nintendo Worlds are built at other Universal Theme Parks and when the pandemic is truly well behind us.
hasmrolled out
Yes great typo
@JuiceMan_V I mean, they aren't quality of life, and they're not specific to these wrist bands, so it doesn't really matter.
@CodyMKW I do hope they will open a park somewhere in Europe. Which hasn't been announced yet.
Nice for those that can get these. But also not like we miss out by not having them either, so I’m for it
This is Good But Nintendo We Need You To Fix One Issue: THE FRAMERATE!!!
@JonathanXMarvelous45 There's nothing wrong with it...
@Deppasois Yes There’s Something Wrong With The Framerate During Cutscenes Like Events, Castle, 1st Boss Cutscene Before Saving Prince, And Outings Like Movie Theater, And Fishing. That’s Why Nintendo Needs To Fix The Slowdown Framerate... it’s Annoying For Gamers Too.
@JonathanXMarvelous45 I've literally never heard anyone but you complain about the frame rate of Miitopia.
WHA- Who is even gonna... what the... that's cool, but... how in the world... it hurts.
@HotGoomba Well That’s Still An Issue! Some Other Miitopia Fans Want Nintendo To Fix That! So What’s The Problem With That? I Dislike It! And If Your Ok With That Issue Then Be My Guest! Because This Can Still Bother Someone.
@JonathanXMarvelous45
Miitopia's frame rate is nowhere near as bad as Age of Calamity and maybe even Bowser's Fury. Be glad there's more stability in the frame rate.
Plus, if you're looking for 60fps, you aren't getting it. End Of Story, Because. It. Doesn't. Necessary. Make. A. Game. Better.
@JonathanXMarvelous45 Man i have seen worse frame rate on games and barely even noticed, a dip in frame rate should not be a reason to get mad and hate like anything unless it's literally unplayable. And besides, it drops to 20fps at worse, and honestly that's nothing compared to other Switch games like Age of Calamity or Spyro.
So...you can show us what happened with them BEFORE the update...but not with the new, CURRENT update? Excellent reporting as usual, Nintendolife! ^^
@HotGoomba I Think Jonathan Is A Troll.
@JonathanXMarvelous45 As No One Else Has Complained About Frame Rate, You Might Need To Fix Your Switch Or Stop Modding It 😊
@JonathanXMarvelous45 Are you spamming Y?
