Update: Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion has now received a release date for Nintendo Switch. The game will launch on the eShop on 22nd April and will be priced at $14.99. A new trailer has been released to share the news – check that out above!
Original Article (Fri 16th Oct, 2020 11:15 BST): Graffiti Games and Snoozy Kazoo have revealed that Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion will be launching on Nintendo Switch in 2021.
This indie action-adventure has you evading taxes and tearing down the government – but you'll be doing it as a cute little turnip. After failing to pay taxes and getting evicted from his home, Turnip Boy must go on a quest to pay back his massive debt to Mayor Onion, solving puzzles, taking on fights and more along the way.
Finally, we can get to live the hardcore secret life led by Nintendo's own Yoshi – if you know, you know.
"Turnip Boy was inspired by a number of classic Nintendo games and we’re thrilled that we can bring our game to the Switch," says Yukon Wainczak, developer at Snoozy Kazoo. "We can’t wait to see what Nintendo fans think of Turnip Boy and we hope it can become the next great action-adventure game in their games catalogue."

Finally! A game for Me!

Since I'm reading this as I just woke up I suddenly realized I still might be sleeping!?!? I am sleeping still right??😴😴
I don't say 'evasion', I say 'avoision'.
Please don't tell me that we have to steal the poor lemon guy's watering can! If it is the only thing left of his wife's that he owns, I probably wouldn't be able to do it. Headshots, I can do. But this? Nope. 🤦🏻♂️
a game based on a meme. how epic and timeless.
@Juga 👏🤣 You win.
I'm digging the art style. Got to wonder how long is the main campaign
I'm liking a lot about this. I'm itching to try the steam demo now.
@Bobb It's at least 48 months
"says Yukon Wainczak, developer at Snoozy Kazoo"
This priceless gathering of letters is a highlight of my day so far.
@Juga I wish I read it like that.
@HobbitGamer sounds tempting but I don't think I have over 35,000 hours to invest in a single game (except maybe Monster Hunter?)
Did I miss the reference here or is it the expected jail time for tax evasion? 😂
@somebread some memes eventually do become part of the language.
Ight, I think this game looks fun. I like the cute look and the humor seems like it will be on point. I’ll put it on my wish list.
I'm shocked how this game is rated E for everyone. Teaching the kids that tax evasion is ok is allowed!? I would think it would be at least E-10 plus...
@LatsaSpege I think it's E for evasion.
I mean... it's a bit like Mario crushing goombas. It's fantasy. Not sure if you are serious, but if you are, I get that.
People's perception of taxes is so all-over-the-place and I'm stunned sometimes, so I will agree that confusing the issue isn't great... but, again, this is all in humor and purposely juxtaposing cuteness with crime and conspiracies.
I don't get this Yoshi and taxes thing. 🤔
Ripping up tax bills? So the libertarians are making games now? Looks better than the one from PETA.
This has to be inspired by that whole meme.
A game based on a meme... So... When do we get a Bowsette inspired game?
(There's an awesome ongoing fan comic, by the way, "The Bowsette Saga".)
Taxation is theft anyway. sign me up!
@Bobb It's a reference to American news media pundits losing their collective minds, I have no clue what the real penalty is.
@LatsaSpege I know right? My parents wouldn't let me dodge taxes until I was at least 11.
The speedruns will be insane
This is giving me Ittle Dew vibes.
April Fools joke or bad acid trip? You decide.
Don't be like Yoshi, be like Kirby who actually does his taxes.
Ah, tax evasion
Best thing ever
"Trump boy commits tax evaision." Sorry couldnt resist.
The fact that this article was updated on April Fool's Day makes it all the better.
Chumpist approved. 😝
It’s the grandson of princess tomato from salad kingdom!
I hope they don't find me.
Alright I changed my mind. I NEED TO GET THIS.
Game: E rated
Teaches people how to do tax evasion.
Keeping my eye on this one
Why not bump the release date to April 15???(US tax deadline date)
This is a missed opportunity. Still, what a funny little game. I too would like to be a turnip avoiding the criminal government and its evil taxes. To become the hero, Turnip will become the villain.
