Wired Productions is among the busier Indie publishers, and this week it held a 'Wired Direct' to promote a number of its upcoming titles. In a pleasing trend a lot of these games are coming to most systems, from Nintendo's hot-selling Switch to the newcomers PS5 and Xbox Series X.
In total five of the showcased games are coming to Ninty's little device, and we think some of them are certainly worth watching closely.
Lumote - Coming Soon
Developed by Luminawesome Games Ltd., it arrived on Steam in February, so the 'coming soon' window makes sense for Switch. The neon colour scheme is certainly eye catching, and it features an interesting mix of 3D platforming and some neat level transitions; certainly one to watch, in our view.
Arcade Paradise - 2021
This one is from Nosebleed Interactive, the same team that brought us Vostok Inc. on the eShop; the tone looks similar, except you're running a rather dreary laundromat with the goal of turning it into an awesome arcade. It promises a funky soundtrack and over 35 'arcades' to play, with each being a standalone (mini?)game in their own right. If the substance matches the style this one could be a hoot.
Tin Hearts - Winter
The team behind this is Rogue Sun, and intriguingly this game made its debut in Steam Early Access in 2018, and was later taken off sale once Wired took over as publisher - the reasoning being that the developers now have the resources to "realise the full vision of the game". It already had generally positive reviews in early access and the trailer looks encouraging, blending storytelling with Lemmings/Mario Vs. Donkey Kong gameplay. We can't help but be intrigued by this one.
Tiny Troopers: Global Ops - 2021
This series has been around a little while, and some eShop aficionados may recall Tiny Troopers Joint Ops XL. It promises more twin-stick arcade shooting like its predecessors, along with some multiplayer modes and maps.
The Last Worker - 2022
As you can see, this one's a bit further out, though the teaser trailer shows a nice Borderlands-style aesthetic. This will be a "first person narrative adventure centred around our struggle in an increasingly automated world", promising a comedic but heartfelt drama and an all-star cast. It's too early to make too many assumptions, but the premise looks promising.
So there you have it, five titles heading to Nintendo Switch in the coming year (or a little further out, in one case). Do any of these catch your eye?

The lack of any gameplay in these trailers is annoying. :-/ Tin Hearts sounds like an interesting concept. I do like Lemmings style games.
Agreed. Is the game so bad, they are scared to show it?
Arcade Paradise sounds like it's an Arcadecraft clone, only you can play the games on the machines.
I'll stick with SmileBASIC, thanks. Plenty of gameplay, there!
I loved vostok.. it had a weird kind of addictive game play.. bit worried though as it wasn't at all like arcade management (or really basic.. build X, generatie income Y.... all have a positive ROI).. so it could be too simple management but with some (inspired by) arcade games to play
@romanista Me too, loved Vostok Inc, but I don’t think there’s anything for me here
lack of gameplay makes me think these will be awful as they have no faith in their games
They're all multiplat so I'll check them on PC first before double dipping on Switch.
I thought the Arcade Paradise trailer was fun. I'd be up for the game too as long as the games are decent clones of favorites.
Vostok was fun and I love arcades so I'll probably pick up Arcade Paradise, assuming it reviews well.
Nosebleed what happened to that racing game you guys were making? It sounded amazing
Watched it yesterday. It was a good showcase. Had alot of fun with Vostok and it sounds like they like making plenty of minigames. Makes me want to see Nosebleed do something a bit more like Warioware. The new Tiny Troopers game also looks promising.
@antster1983 yep, and that's awesome.
Arcade Paradise is intriguing.
@Stargazer We showed Wired the concept for this and they bit our hand off so the racer is shelved for now (but I definitely still want to make it).
I'm really proud of this though. Can't wait until we can start showing gameplay and some of the loops. It definitely has the same Nosebleed "just 5 more minutes" (2 hours pass) DNA.
@Kyloctopus Thanks. Just a quick note though... We're not calling these "minigames" as a lot of them have a lot of depth and are full experiences you might pay for on their own. We want to be known for being a really generous studio
@KIRO One of the rules has been we don't touch it if we can't add something, or do it better. Street Fighter 2 style game is the big absence because they're soooo hard to get right with frame counters and so on. I'd still love to do one, but it would probably take most of the project time to get right. That said we have a really fun side scroller (like streets of rage or final fight).
@Clyde_Radcliffe Fair comment but we've chosen not for the reveal. The proof is in the pudding, obviously, but I'm really looking forward to when we can start showing gameplay and revealing some more concrete details. BUT... I trust the PR/Marketing at Wired so I'll do my bit and keep schtum for now
Also a quick one... is your name related to the old C64 game CREATURES? I looooved that game. One of the games that made me interested in making games.
@suikoden Check my comment to @Clyde_Radcliffe. I'm confident people will really like it when we eventually start getting it into peoples hands. There's definitely some Vostok Inc DNA in there too with the reward structure, always something new just round the corner.
@romanista I don't want to jinx it but if you liked Vostok Inc, I think you'll LOVE this. We're going for the same compelling loop of there always being something to do and unlock. I want it to feel a bit like when you were a kid and bought a new game, and then you read the manual cover to cover while you run home, but each time you unlock a new game. (You order them on a PC and then have to wait an in game day for them to be delivered).
@dadrester
Cool man I'm down for whatever you come up with, fan for life after Vostok
@Stargazer Awww. Thank you!!
@dadrester great reply.... I'm am interested, don't worry about that, just though the vostok comparison made in the article didn't really understand the clicker loop... think you wil need to make more decision on what to di here... keep up the good work
