Update: Streamer neeks - AKA teakittyy - has kindly keen in touch to break some bad news: the pipe doesn't take you to the "fourth level", but the third. Boo.

Original Story [Mon 1st Mar, 2021 21:30 GMT]: Either you're here because you're wondering what the "fourth level" is, or you're here because you realise how much of a game changer this could be. For the former, the fourth level is something we've covered before - in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can usually only build and climb up to three levels on their island. By using a combination of glitches, timing, and precision, players figured out how to build four levels, and get up to the final one - but now, there's an easier way, thanks to Mario and the gang,
It turns out that the Warp Pipe - one of the new items in the Mario X Animal Crossing set that was added to the game in today's update - actually catapults players into the air upon exiting, which will allow them to build a Warp Pipe on one level, but land on the next one.

Streamer neeks - AKA teakittyy - discovered that the trick would let her land on the mystical fourth level, finally doing away with all the complicated stuff needed to get up there in the past. For anyone who has built on the fourth level, or would like to, this is a huge deal. For anyone else, it's probably just a cool trick that they'll ignore while they happily continue to build within the game's rules.
Will you be using this trick when you get your mitts on the Warp Pipe, or are you content with your three-level island for now? How else are you planning to use the Warp Pipes? Tell us about it in the comments!

I don't even play the game anymore so.... Nah, neat trick though.
I love how something so seemingly simple like this will lead to so much more creativity in how people design their islands.
@KateGray Yes... This is definitely not a pipe
Not really a game changer though (I take it that accessing the fourth level remains an unintended glitch?). We need our old NPCs and Nook store upgrades back.
It would have been nice if there was an area to post custom artwork as well. Visitors can already leave notes/doodles on the message board.
Hopefully they wont patch this
Nintendo will most likely patch this.
I never understood why you were prohibited from climbing higher, but not from building higher.
Like, what can you do once you're up on the fourth level? Can you climb down from there, decorate furniture and flowers, even move homes up there? If that's possible, Nintendo can't roll-back this glitch because there's a risk of permanently ruining game saves.
Patched out in under two weeks
It was great to see all the new Mario items this morning...only to be told I was only allowed to purchase 5 a day.
I know I could use the Time Travel trick to speed it up, but it’s a faff & I can’t be arsed doing that. That, and I’ve never used Time Travel because I prefer to wait.
If I’m spending Bells, Nintendo should up the daily amount we can purchase.
I’ve never played ACNH, so bear with me.
Would it be possible to add levels on top if the fourth level and have pipes near each of them to create some sort of tower?
I don't know how much longer Nintendo will continue to support this game with new content, although it would make sense for its first year anniversary to feature a big update with those long-rumored additions (Brewster, gardening, museum shop, Nookington's, etc ). That said, many users (myself included) have long since reached a point of critical mass where finding room to place anything new on our islands is concerned. Nintendo addressed a sorely needed increase in each player's storage a few months ago, but a means to increase the size of your island and your house beyond the current limit would be very welcome as well. Once you hit that point where you really don't have the room necessary to add or do what you want, it kind of kills your interest even when new content does come around.
Sadly, I don't see Nintendo doing much more beyond some token seasonal updates after the anniversary. For what it's worth, ACNH has provided players like myself with hundreds of hours' worth of enjoyment, for which I am grateful. It's just hard when you realize that even a game as great and customizable as this has hit the ceiling of its limitations, and that your incentive for returning to it is never going to be the same.
I thought people would make warp pipe mazes on their islands. They still can, but it sounds like if you have three or more warp pipes, they are all connected and the one that you come out of is random.
Not sure I will do it, but it is neat that a warp pipe can be placed and used inside your house,
@Kalmaro Why did you respond then?
@AtlanteanMan The developers said they’d continue to add content for the next few years lol
@KarmaGoona Because they asked.
I'm waiting for the Animal Crossing X Daemon X Machina crossover.
33 items, not counting the pi pie, limited to 5 per day. 😝
Agree w/ the others, they'll patch it out. Though they shouldn't it's our island.
This is cool, and I'd love to make use of it, but I've already designed my town around having three levels...and I bet they're probably gonna patch this out.
@RupeeClock There were already other methods to get up to the fourth level that they patched so they actually already kind of did that.
Watch Nintendo patch this harmless thing out.
I love stuff like this happening but at the same time HATE how this cool stuff always gets announced, since 99% of the time Nintendo will patch it out quickly afterwards.
But is it a glitch or is it meant as a secret thing? I don't want to risk a bunch of work messing with these things if Nintendo considers this a glitch and patches it out next month.
@KarmaGoona I'm aware of that. I'm also aware that most of the "updates" from the past several months were already part of the base game (per the official guide). Time will tell whether Nintendo will add anything substantial (and original, meaning content not already there, such as seasonal items or character visits) after the first year, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
That's cool. Now, how about allowing more than 8 ramps??
Patch incoming.
First that Astrologaster review, now jokes about pipes and perspective. Stop it, @KateGray!
(OK, I know, it's been a long, long year... but does this mean we can post in French?!)
I've definitely seen conflicting results on this... hopefully a YouTuber gets to the bottom of this to figure this out...
I don't think this is true. I looked hard at her mini map and her "4th level" has the same shade of green as a regular 3rd level. And at the last second of the video she was in the middle of placing a Small Mushroom Platform which should be impossible on the 4th level. (It was possible way early before but the glitch should've been patched by now)
@KateGray
She mistook the 3rd level with 4th. It is impossible to warp to the 4th level. In my opinion, you as a journalist should verify this in the game yourself before publishing though.

Yeah, it's not the fourth level. I'm outraged! Please change the title ASAP. GRRRR
@AtlanteanMan we can't even buy multiple items in different colors or create more than one fishbait at a time. I doubt island expansion is high on the to do list for Nintendo. But I'm right there with you, I've lost quite a bit of interest because I have no room on my island and I don't even have all ten villagers! I know ACNH is larger, but weirdly enough ACNL feels bigger to me somehow.
Oh come the %#*^ on. Probably could have figured this out in the time it took to post the article. Seriously. JFC. 😝
@AtlanteanMan I definitely would love an update that expands the at least one of the downstairs rooms in your house and adds more storage. Collecting all the variants of items, the 2400 spots isn't enough.
As for the problem of running out of space on the island, an opportunity to expand the island would be fantastic. For the time being, I've resorted to reducing the size of certain areas, concentrating villagers homes in specific areas and making some areas multifunctional. It's helped in creating more space.
Lmao. Of course.
