Nintendo Celebrates Fire Emblem’s 30th Anniversary With Special Voice Actor Interviews

Damn it, I saw the logo out of the corner of my eye and thought a new Fire Emblem had been announced or something... could be interesting to see the interviews.

This should be good. Would be even better if Veronica Taylor was also involved though seeing as she has such a history voicing for Nintendo series. She went from voicing Ash Ketchum in Pokémon to voicing Manuela in FE Three Houses and Micaiah in FE Heroes

Really love how much the VAs have pushed this game on social media. I can't recall the last time I've seen a game so beloved by a community like this.

What second expansion?

Cherami is one of my favourites, loved her performance as Mae in Echoes. I do wish Kyle McCarley was in on this, he's another one of my favourites (voice actor for Alm in Echoes and Gatekeeper in 3 Houses). Nice to see some attention being brought to the VAs, I feel like they don't get enough recognition for their work.

That's fun. I'll give it a watch. I liked how they always had voice actors on Fire Emblem Cipher streams. Voice actors don't generally get much attention though there are some exceptions, like Joe Zieja (Claude, Three Houses). I was already pretty much ready to start my first playthrough with Golden Deer but his campaign before the game's launch solidified my decision.

Pretty cool I hope they re release more of the older ones on switch. Maybe translate that second ds one we never got

Will they be in character? I think Mae is my favourite performance of the lot.
It's a pity Patrick Seitz is only going to be voicing the owl (Fehnix - the heroes OC ended up being the one to introduce the hated subscription service to heroes).
Speaking of which, I'd have liked to see Cassandra Lee-Morris make an appearance too - she took over the voice of the regular Heroes owl, and while I prefer the other one, I like her performance as Sothis.

Heck, I want them to translate all the Japan-only games, but would settle for the second DS game and first GBA game.

Stuff like this is nice. I think a lot about the thousands of people who work on games, but we never get to see their faces. It would be great to be able to thank them in some way.

@gaga64 My dream package would be a physical cart containing Fire Emblem 6 and 7 - 7 is the first western release, and is the prequel to 6. Both together will be a great experience overall. Don't need any remake/remaster treatment, just give me a playable port (and of course they have to translate 6, which the community seems to have done already ).

Yeah, alright, you could've also ported some games to the switch or maybe put some older titles on the snes library. Just sayin'.

I can see an April Fool's joke incoming where Nintendo announces they're celebrating Zelda's 35th Anniversary with interviews with voice actors from the series, especially anyone who played Link. "AAAHH! HOOO! YAAGGH!!! Yeah, those were my best lines."

It would have been nice if Nintendo had done something more substantial for this, maybe an original entry or at least a remaster of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn in a compilation.

@AtlanteanMan : They could have given the Radiance games the Super Mario 3D All Stars treatment. No new bells and whistles. No remakes. Just ports of the originals, preferably at a budget price.

I believe the Japanese special edition of Echoes also included a Blu-ray disc containing HD cutscenes from Radiant Dawn through to Echoes, which implies that HD versions of pre-rendered cutscenes do exist, so they could have thrown those in for good measure (rather than the heavily compressed SD ones in the Wii version).

Really hope we see some new FE projects this year, whether it's remakes or another new mainline. I finally bought FE Echoes last week, and I'd love to see them reimagine more of the old games like that. Considering how dry Nintendo's current 2021 schedule is looking, it wouldn't surprise me if they do one of those 'stealth' announcements for a new remake sometime this summer.

It could be like the one they did on N7 day with Mass Effect voice actors. Then they announced the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

Yeah I could definitely see Nintendo announcing a new Fire Emblem Echoes game for the Switch after the event. I thought the western release for Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light was a nice treat.It kinda felt like Nintendo was trying to tell us that more is to come soon in terms of celebration of the franchise.

Release a remaster or a port nintendo plz.

midway through the video we see new models for claude and edelgard with their final class upgrade equipped. makes me wonder if we'll be seeing a persona 5 royal style definitive edition come out of this

Still playing 3 houses tho the hub system is a janky bore. Best was FE awakenings but 3 houses has some longevity you just have to take a break from it for a while between houses.

@San_D Imagine the salt if it was just the GBA games with no enhancements. It'll be the 3D All-Stars situation all over again

@Kirbo100 I think the backlash against 3D All Stars was due to the price point at which people felt cheated. If it were $40, probably it would generate less controversy. It still sold like crazy. And imo 3D's biggest problem isn't the quality of the port. It's Nintendo's totally pathetic move of making it time limited at a time when millions have lost jobs. I wish it didn't sell a single copy.

@Lord Given that we received two seasons of Hyrule Warriors DLC, 2 separate re-releases, AND a BotW-themed sequel, I think odds are pretty high that we get either Fire Emblem Warriors DLC, re-release for a Switch Plus/New Switch, or a sequel to Fire Emblem Warriors, focused on Three Houses characters.

This all said, I somewhat doubt a re-release of the game as a hardcopy with DLC included. While Pokémon did this, I expect with Fire Emblem that they'd only do that for a new console, rather than two versions of the same game on the same console.
