Nintendo has shared an updated list of Europe's most-downloaded Switch eShop games, revealing which titles were the most popular during January 2021.
Online multiplayer sensation Among Us has managed to claim top spot for the second week in a row; just like last month, the game managed to fend off the ever-popular Minecraft to seal the victory. It's hardly surprising when you consider that the title sold an estimated 3.2 million copies during its launch month alone on Switch – that number is sure to be considerably higher now.
Elsewhere, we see a number of familiar faces like Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, with indie favourite Hades entering the top 15 alongside the new Scott Pilgrim release.
You can check out the full list below. It's based on the number of Nintendo eShop downloads (so no physical sales) in European territories during the whole month:
- Among Us
- Minecraft
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Stardew Valley
- Hades
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition
- Super Mario Party
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Pokémon Sword
- Just Dance 2021
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Cuphead
- 51 Worldwide Games
Did you download any of these titles on Switch last month? Any surprises in the top 15? Tell us below.

Top 5 aren't surprising whatsoever. Why is smash so low?
Stardew Valley is a monster. I wonder how many millions it's sold on Switch by now? It's surely one of the best selling indies of all time.
Just FYI I don’t think this includes free to play games like Fortnite
Pokemon got beat out by NSMBUD, very pleasing.
@OorWullie It actually is the best selling indie game ever. It sold over 10 million copies across all platforms as of January 2020.
This list is sus.
@1ofUs
Because it's years old?
@TheFullAndy it's still a great game! Plus, MINECRAFT is older than smash
@1ofUs
I don't think Smash is as big in Europe as it is America and Japan.
Only got Hades and Cuphead of all these.
@BTB20 minecraft surely must be the bigger indie game, or did it stop being indie when it was bought by Microsoft
I'm hoping the only reason Cyber Shadow missed this list is because it released so late in the month. Absolutely a phenomenal game that shines even amongst the overcrowded retro market.
Way to go Super Mario Party! Still hanging in there.
Weird. Pokemon sword sold better than shield? I mean it makes sense, Zamazenta is kinda trash
@FluffiestP1llow It has a cooler name.
@Tandy255 It has HALF the amount of boards as Mario Party 1 on the N64 which had 8. Damn sad that it's sold so well considering. Not going to encourage the developers to pit more effort in next time.
Good to see Stardew Valley and Hades up there amongst the full retail game behemoths
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a trooper, has it ever left the top ten since launch?
This is likely to be people buying stuff after getting Switches for Christmas I suspect?
A pretty solid line up, though I'm quite surprised to see NSMB in there!
