Great news for those of you who really liked Hades for its particle effects, its heavy use of pink and purple, and its satisfyingly explodey combat: roguelike dungeon-puncher Curse of the Dead Gods has all that and more, and it's coming to Switch soon.
It looks like it's been in Early Access on Steam for a while, and its clear influence from Hades and Darkest Dungeon have gained it a fairly sizeable following already. The developers, Passtech Games (who made Masters of Anima) have been adding new dungeons, weapons, updates, and enemies using players' feedback during Early Access.
Curse of the Dead Gods will launch on February 23rd on the Nintendo Switch, as well as the Xbox One and PS4, the Epic Games Store, and Steam.
Curse Of The Dead Gods? Who will enforce said curse? The aunties of The Dead Gods? because the Dead Gods can't, they're all dead.
"all that and more", so it'll get a perfect 10/10 and then some?
Hades? Where? Oh its a game like hades
I love Hades and have been playing it since early alpha but it didn’t invent the very clearly Gauntlet inspired gameplay.
Oh gods... I don’t need another great game like Hades to consume all my time and be extremely fun and addicting...
...said no one ever.
I was going to bash the game for the blatancy indicated in the tagline, but just looking at the Steam page and the reviews so far makes it look promising. If it has as much polish and charm as Hades does, I may get it day 1.
Still it's a bit difficult to compare it to the game that got an Overly Positive (98%) rating on Steam with over 10,000 reviews before it was even out of early access
