Is any of these games worth something? I've never seen those names before.
@Rhaoulos the only one that probably deserves no more than 5 minutes of anyone's time is mom hid my game, which is free on Android and IOS. The rest looks like cheap Rpg Maker garbage.
@Bl4ckb100d Thanks for the reply. It would be nice to have some recommendations from NL, even if the recommendation is to avoid at all cost.
Stop promoting kemco please.
Its all cheaply cobbled together garbage.
@Bl4ckb100d @Rhaoulos Mom Hid My Game is worth it for £2.69 for sure! A funny and quirky budget game.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaard pass. If I wanted a generic RPG, I’d play Divinity II.
I tried a handful of them. They are just so generic and average that it feels like they don't even really exist. Even while playing it.
Not bad, not good. Just nothing.
Not heard of any of these. Are they that bad NL were ashamed to show screenshots of each game?
Kemco really needs to released their past classics and stopped hitting us with these mobile RPG Maker trash that litters the eShop.
This comments section is lots of help, thanks!
All the negativity in this comment sections has spurred me away from purchasing any of these! Thanks everyone!
I want to like them, but every time I play a Kemco RPG I feel nothing for it. They are so blah.
Asdivine Hearts was fun enough to put 30 hours into completing. Decent twist involving one of the characters towards the middle. Not the most amazing thing ever, but it was a good enough time to keep me playing. Fernz Gate has a fun battle system. Monochrome order had interesting ideas, I just wish some of the smaller choices had a bigger impact on the story.
I'm sure they had a sale a mere fw months back? Anyway, even WITH a sale I'd rather save that portion of my games budget for better examples of titles in that genre. In fact, I most likely already have them on my backlog.
These games have generally been reviewed as 3, 5 or at a stretch 6 out of 10, say, across the consoles. That's if I remember this devs works' reviews correctly. One exceptiom is Mom Hid My Game which metacritic has at around 70% I think
I will be the opposite voice and say I enjoy some of the kemco rpgs (You want the ones made by exe create like chronus arc). They are cheap, light, and have enough content to entertain for a couple days.
If you like old turned based RPGs, they aren't bad.
@Yanina lol, yeah they're so mediocre they cancel each other out.
Grabbed "Mom Hid My Game!" on a whim.
The 3DS version, actually.
@superguy123 They aren't promoting them. NL tells us about ALL the deals, regardless of if they are good games or not. But yeah these games look like doodoo.
@Dalrint Which ones on this listare made by exe?
@RupeeClock
Yeah I think I may get that one too. NL gave it a "not bad" score so for such a low price I should get money's worth.
@AbejaGrande
to promote
Examples include contests, coupons, freebies, loss leaders, point of purchase displays, premiums, prizes, product samples, and rebates. Sales promotions can be directed at either the customer, sales staff, or distribution channel members (such as retailers).
there are different definitions for what it means to promote, advancing in rank, awareness and yes even bringing attention to sales
Kemco? As in the same Kemco that released those Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle games on NES and Gameboy? I honestly didn’t know this company was still around.
@superguy123
Definition of douchebag
1 usually douche bag : a bag used for giving douches a rubber douche bag
2 chiefly US slang : an obnoxious, offensive, or disgusting person
In America even scummy douchebags like you should be able to catch a cold.— Stephen King
@AbejaGrande what a great rebuttal, that really stung, ouch. oof. kablam!
calling me a douche doesnt change the definition of to promote and that in the end you were simply wrong.
go grab a dictionary and read. might proof beneficial for your feeble mind to advance and prosper and even be able to not try and disproof something without doing some research. it took me less than 10 seconds to look up this definition of 'to promote'
@aznable You must be joking. Divinity II is one of the best rpgs on Switch. It can't even be remotely compared to Kemco's garbage!
@Andy_Witmyer Great effort was put into making Divinity II engrossing and deep, which I can wholly appreciate. However, it is -IMO- über generic by Western RPG standards. I’m not saying it’s a garbage game... I’m just saying it doesn’t feel unique in aesthetic, gameplay or content. What’s there is plentiful and I’m sure there are lots of people who love that type of stuff- but that’s just the problem, I can say “that type of stuff” and people will likely understand what kind of “stuff” I’m referring to. Sorry I wasn’t clear in that first comment.
@superguy123 You need a hug, and a fresh nozzle. <3
@Crono1973 Chronus Arc, Revenant Saga/Dogma, and Antiqua Lost, I think.
