Ever wanted to work at Nintendo? Nintendo of America is currently advertising a page of internships on its careers website.
At the time of writing, there are a total of 18 job openings - with the majority located at Nintendo of America's headquarters in Redmond, Washington. Two other positions are located in Redwood City, California.
The internships on offer cover all sorts of fields. There are various positions for software engineers, analytics, researchers, IT security, graphic designers, marketing experts and more. One line each position promotes is getting "serious about fun" and putting "smiles on faces" as you participate in the program from June through to August.
As a Nintendo of America Intern, you will actively contribute to meaningful projects, and gain valuable hands-on work experience with a leading company in the entertainment industry. During the program from June through August, your work experience will be enhanced with mentoring, networking opportunities and exposure to industry leaders from across the company! Whether you are in a technical or non-technical role, you will be a part of a team committed to putting smiles on faces of millions around the world.
These positions require a graduate-level foundation in your chosen field, and you'll need to be legally authorised to work in the United States. You can see the full list of positions on NOA's career page.

Funnily enough I’m actually on the hunt for a year’s Software Engineering placement. Don’t think I could go off to the States though.
@Bizaster
it varies by state, but it's almost always 14. There are also ways to ask for an exception, and if you have a graduate level degree and work experience at 14, I'm pretty sure they would be happy to make one for you because ... damn!
@HeadPirate let’s go! I can persuade Nintendo to make Pikmin 4 from the INSIDE
@CheekyZelda
I hate to say this, but I believe Pikmin 4 was supposed to Hey! Pikmin
yess, i can finally make sure we got some real hype smash DLCs!
Time to experience 4 years worth of college in just 2 days!
Is 45 too old to be an intern? 🤔
@nessisonett I remember asking you about this when Nintendo's Kyoto division starred this program. Honestly, go for it if you can. Don't really know what NoA's work ethic is like but it sounds very good.
That area NOA is in, Redmond Washinton, is SUPER nice. That Seattle area is freaking gorgeous.
I was a 3rd-year comp sci major at a top university when I applied last year, but they never even got back to me... Really wish I could re-apply but I have to look for full-time jobs now.
i want that job! but damn it, i am not moving to Washington or California!
I know the West Coast is infamously pricy (I'll probably hate myself for looking at the costs later) but I'll give some of these a shot. If nothing else, I'll get an idea of what I can work on to eventually get a shot at working in the Big N. Yet another reason to learn Japanese!
@theJGG I’ve already applied to Rare, Playground, Sports Interactive and Feral so might as well go for it!
@nessisonett Rare?! I... wow! That's a big name. Hope you land it, that'll be something awesome to mention during a Christmas dinner.
@Bizaster Is a 10 year old allowed to reserve a spot? Asking for a me. ;D
@Fandabidozi i think you're fine
@Bizaster
You know, maybe a Nintendo job would be cool.
I would rather work for valve lol 😂
Great time to look into this. My university requires us to have one internship done before graduation and most of the internships on the link are related to my major. Wish me luck!!
Any mention of being offered a paid job at the end of the free / three months? Just curious as I'm far too old and far away to qualify.
@sheriff
Hey, you too, thanks. Merry Xmas! 🎄
I'd love to apply in future intern openings after I get a degree
