Update: The latest update has arrived in SMITE, meaning that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are now available as playable characters. Details can be found below.
All four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are available through an all-new Battle Pass dedicated to the classic franchise. Players can become the Turtle’s leader, Leonardo, with a skin for Osiris unlocked immediately upon purchasing the Battle Pass. Then, just by playing SMITE, purchasers will unlock Raphael Loki, Michelangelo Mercury, and Donatello Sun Wukong, each armed with signature weapons from the series.
The Battle Pass unlocks dozens of thematic cosmetics—Avatars, Loading Frames, Death Stamps, and more—featuring pizzas, sewers and Mousers. And for the most hardcore fans, there are bonus prestige skins with a unique 80’s cartoon-inspired look for all four Turtles. Players can also join the fight as the Turtles’ master, Splinter, or their arch-rival Shredder. Both are out now, and available as a separate purchase.
Original Article (Tue 13th Oct, 2020 10:30 BST): The pizza-loving superhero gang of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will soon be available as playable characters in popular MOBA, SMITE, it's been revealed.
Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello all appear as skins in the all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Pass, which will be available in November. Purchasing the pass gives you instant access to Leonardo – a new Osiris skin – and through playing the game, you'll then unlock Raphael Loki, Michelangelo Mercury, and Donatello Sun Wukong.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Battle Pass is chock full of content for dedicated fans of the series, including a Mouser ward skin and a global emote for whenever you want to say “Cowabunga!” For the most hardcore of fans, bonus prestige skins in the Battle Pass feature a unique 80’s cartoon-inspired look for all four Turtles.
Players will also be able to become the Turtles’ master, Splinter, or their arch-rival Shredder through this crossover event. Splinter Hachiman and Shredder Ravana skins will be available as separate purchases.
If you're yet to play SMITE, it's free-to-play on Switch and could well be worth a try. In our review, we said that "there’s a slow grind to earn skins via the Season Pass, but the game itself is one of the best entries in the genre and it’s right here on Switch – a cause for celebration and no mistake".

Nice! I'm not a tmnt Stan or main any of the gods the skins are available for so I'm not sure I'd get the battle pass this time. I'm so glad this game is on the switch. Once I got the hang of it, it sucked me in and I play at least one game a day.
I don't know what SMITE is, but it sadly isn't the word I wanted at the end of the sentence 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Heading To...'
Forgive me for sounding like an old grandpa but what the hell is SMITE?
I’d rather have an actual TMNT game collection thank you very much.
@BionicDodo Imagine "Turtles in Time" Remake for Switch.
@Scollurio
They tried that already on Xbox live. It was horrible.
@Scollurio To be honest, I still play that on my SNES and it still looks great. I'd rather a new Turtles action game (that isn't terrible).
When was the last time they made a good Turtle game? I stopped caring after Turtles in time. Played one of the gamecube ones and it was not pleasant at all.
stop trying to get me into things because of my FANDOM!?
@Zeldafan79 TMNT on the Game Boy Advance was great. But that was 13 years ago...
It's a shame that game is a total mess.
@Zeldafan79
Yeah, have it on my PS3, it is awful.
I have no idea how you can destroy such a "simple" and fun Gameplay.
But it was also based on the arcade Game.
The Super Nintendo Version is much better in pacing and minor Gameplay Changes.
A Addition to the Switch online Service would be cool, but i think it is complicated because of the Rights.
Also i would buy a physical Copy of a TMNT Comilation like the Castlevania one
Interesting that they went with designs most resembling the 80s cartoon.
i really like how they went OG turtles and not the abomination recent turtles weve had lately.
@Travisemo007 Personally I was hoping for OG OG Turtles (i.e. the comics) as that is what I am a fan of, though I’ve never played SMITE. However I do like how the faces in the photo do look more like the TMNT toys than the cartoon; they've got that fierce look on their faces while still having the cartoon colours.
@Scollurio I have been imagining this remake every generation since SNES. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0e69e_B_SE
I don't like whoever's in charge of licensing out the Turtles.
Fun fact: Chuck Lorre, creator of the critically acclaimed sitcoms "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory" wrote that classic theme song.
@Nitwit13 Nah, nobody wants them in black and white looking exactly the same save for their weapons. One thing the first cartoon series did right (which naturally every other adaptation since then has copied) was color code them for our convenience. Some other adaptations have then made even further visual differences to where they're not just palette swaps of each other (although I think the "Rise of the TMNT" cartoon went too far in that regard).
@majinx07 ..
Yes ,with “arcade perfect “ports of both TMNT games..Thankful I own the original TMNT arcade Jamma Board ..
Never even heard of SMITE. How is that the case? I mean, I know I dismiss MOBAs from my consciousness, but the name itself is completely alien to me. Am I missing anything good?
I am SO grateful that they look like TMNT and aren't in that awful Rise of the Turtles style.
I've never heard of SMITE.
@Xiovanni To those who love comics they are gods in their own right lol.
@ReikoMortis Lol!
Isn't this the game they added Aang and Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender to? I guess Nickelodeon has some kind of special deal with them or something...
Never heard of Smite. At 41 I guess it isn't for me?
I'd like to see the Turtles Arcade games on Switch but also the Konami TMNT console collection.
The fact that you can get the 2 arcade games from Smyths in a small child size arcade cabinet makes me wonder why they haven't come to consoles too?
I understand a full collection will probably never happen due to licensing but it would be great to play Snes Turtles In Time properly again.
Tried to start a chat with others on the NL forum page regarding bringing back TMNT in time (SNES version of course) on the Switch or a new remake. It was locked by Octane, however it did generate a lot of interest. I personally think this would be a huge hit and I hope the powers that be seriously consider this....... PLEASE !!!
@Zeldafan79
The only games I liked was Turtles 2 on the NES (or MAME for the better version; sadly the arcade never came out on anything that could actually run it well), Turtles in time and Turtles Hyperstone Heist.
Turtles 1 was atrocious and pretty much everything after the SNES/Genesis is an abomination.
Well, this worked. Hadn't heard of this game, but because of adding my childhood favorite characters, I just downloaded it to my Switch
This game is still alive? I'm impressed.
@sword_9mm What about "TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project" on the NES"? That one is just as brilliant as the other 3 classic games, even better than "TMNT 2" and "Hyperstone Heist" in my opinion.
The arcade version of the 2nd game can be played in the 2nd TMNT GameCube game, while the arcade version of "Turtles in Time" is in the 3rd TMNT GameCube game, although that requires playing through a bunch of a couple of very mediocre games before you can unlock them, and you don't get the SNES bonus level of "Turtles in Time," plus I believe they had to alter the music like in the panned "Turtles in Time" remake. You do get to play with up to 4 players, though.
