And it will stay as a concept more than likely because as hotels they look like they would be very expensive to maintain and run.

I think this could work in Vegas. I'm not sure it would work anywhere else. Reminds me of the "Dave & Busters" of hotels!

I feel bad for them. I know this is not the Atari of old, but there will be a soft spot in my heart for them always.

These haven't even began construction yet on the hotels, these aren't going to be opening up for a while.

The mockups look absolutely brilliant, but knowing "Atari" (god knows how many companies have had this name over the past 50 years), it must be too good to be true.

Honestly, this hotel looks better than all their games in the past few years.

So they are going to make crazy hotels but they can't even pump out a game console that they made people prepay....

@jorel262 Atari isn't Atari anymore. The real Atari went bust after the Jaguar & Lynx failed. The founder/CEO went on to found Chuck E. Cheese arcade pizzerias.

This is just a bunch of crooks they sold the name to long, long ago who still think, for some unknown reason, it has actual value of some sort.

Atari has delusions of grandeur. First it was their recent mini console(never happened, last I knew), now ... hotels? XD what? What are they on?

Surprised people still consider Atari to be a big brand with serious draw, it hasn't meant much since the 80's.

Atari isn't really a well known brand name among the young gamers anymore. Make it Nintendo and this hotel will be fully booked.

I have more faith in Coleco at the moment, Atari seems incapable of following through with anything they do, they're the last company I would trust with anything. In this make believe scenario where they build a hotel, and in a reality where covid isn't a concern, I still wouldn't have any reason to go there, because they don't have any clout, the Atari name means failure and desperation, I'd expect the hotel to be crap. They'd put their name on just about anything for a quick buck regardless of quality.

It ain't gonna last long, the pandemic will shut it down one by one.

Of all the video game companies that might start a hotel chain, I can't think of one more irrelevant today than Atari

I can't say it doesn't look cool to me, a kid that grew up in the mid-80s and early 90s. I, and older people, are probably the target market. But we all know it's not going to look anything like that right? They'll run out of money.

Did they console they were touting launch yet?

I find it funny that Atari are going backwards. Soon they'll be selling playing cards and mahjong tables.
