Next month sees the arrival of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calmaity - a game set 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild.
Koei Tecmo has revealed quite a bit about it so far, and now, in the December 2020 issue of Nintendo Dream, some new character renders have been shared. Perhaps the highlight is the "other characters" section featuring the King of Hyrule, Purah and Robbie - which were all previously introduced as allies.
According to the user who uploaded these scans on the Age of Calamity subreddit, the magazine says it's unclear if any of these allies will be playable. The other scanned pages feature artwork of - Impa, Daruk, Revali, Mipha, Urbosa, Master Kohga and Hestu.

Purah and Robbie are so eccentric in Breath of the Wild I bet they'd be crazy fun to play as.
I'm struggling to imagine using Hestu's maracas to blow some bokoblins out of the water XD

Looks like King Rhoam is playable. Why else would they give him a sword?

@Thundertron55 It could be to knight someone with. Given the length of it, if he is playable I'm betting he'll use a shield unless it's a ***** sword.
I bet that they are playable. Considering that not many known (and important) characters of BOTW were around that time, they have to use everyone that they can. I'm also sure that the teacher of Kaaz (the bird musician) is one of them too.
This game looks amazing. BotW seriously has one of the best art styles in visual media that I've seen in a while.
This could easily be it's own anime franchise

They made movesets out of Agitha the bug princess/collector and King Daphnes so I'd be surprised if we didn't get Rhoam and Hetsu as at the very least post completion unlockable characters.
I think they will all be playable. That's already quite a big roster. Other contenders might be Sidon, Kass and Beedle.
@Henmii I'm betting for the one that teached Kaaz since he's mentioned to be around that time. It's my most anticipated character haha.
I also hope we can play the other side. Playing as a Lynel would rock!

I thought of these too but Sidon was a young fishling (I guess thats what youd call them?!) and I doubt Beedle was alive 100 years ago!

That's certainly possible, but maybe also Kass himself. Remember that botw Hyrule has a messed up aging system: Zelda hasn't changed a bit in 100 years, a small Zora-child being very old, etc.

We don't know how long they stay fishling, maybe for thousands of years? I believe the girl in botw (with the human boyfriend) was 500 years old!
