Netflix's library of video game series continues to grow, with the streaming giant yesterday announcing it would be creating a brand new show based on Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed.
In case you forgot, it also recently announced a new CG anime series based on Capcom's long-running survival horror games, Resident Evil. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is arriving in 2021 and to help build up some excitement, the streaming service has now released some new screenshots of Leon and Claire via Twitter.
"When biohazards run wild, only a pair of veteran zombie slayers can get the job done. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is a new original series set in the canon of @CapcomUSA_’s classic survival horror franchise @RE_Games, coming next year."
As noted above, it's an original series and is canon. Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy originally made their debut in Resident Evil 2 and more recently appeared in the 2019 remake. There's no additional information about this new series just yet other than the trailer above.

Leon looks perfect (as usual mwah) but I think I prefer the model they used for Claire in the Resi 2 Remake personally.
I can't wait for the series to come out! Wish the remakes were out on Switch as well!
@ferroreo Resident Evil 2’s one of a very small amount of games that I personally think would lose a great deal due to the Switch compromises. The volumetric lighting adds so much to the atmosphere, which is key to horror games. The overall presentation is a big part of what makes it such a great game, I’m not sure they could get certain rendered cutscenes to run either like the opening section in Raccoon City with the crowds of zombies. Still, stranger things have happened!
I like how Leon and Claire look like how they should yet what the hell happened with Chris? In RE7 and the recent CGI movie he looks different + different voice.
Rip my homie Roger Craig Smith as Chris "Boulder" Redfield
So question.... Is resident evil revelations 2 canon? Cause we see Claire in that and I really liked that game... Just wondering.
Excited to see the show!
@nessisonett Well, I guess it depends on how scalable the RE engine is. For example, Alien Isolation looks fantastic on Switch, with volumetric lighting and all.
@Ttimer5 yes it’s canon. Actually all games are canon bar some exceptions like GBC RE Gaiden and some multiplayer games.
I don't understand why they are using the worst character models for Leon and Claire.
I wasn't aware it was going to be a CG series, honest! I thought it was going to be a live action. It's actually a good call, I think. Live actions either look washed down or too cheesy when trying to emulate energetic scenes that were meant for cartoons/games/animes.
That said, RE2's Leon will always be baby face Leon from the first iteration of the game for me
@TechaNinja I agree, the original designs are better, not sure what led Capcom to take the decision to redesign them. Even Christ doesn't look like Christ but his design since RE5 was better, and I don't even like him
