After a lengthy period of having no stock, the Nintendo Official UK Store has once again started taking pre-orders for Switch consoles.
Both the Neon Red/Blue Nintendo Switch and the Coral Switch Lite - which has been near impossible to find after its initial launch period - can be ordered as we speak. We imagine these might sell out again pretty quickly, so if you've been hoping to find a new console at RRP, you might want to jump on these while you have the chance.

Nintendo Switch - Neon Red/Blue
We should point out that the Neon Red/Blue Switch consoles are the newer model with the updated battery life, just in case you were wondering. Any orders you make for either console are expected to start shipping from 14th August.

Thanks Tangerine
Grabbed one at £170, been waiting for my daughters birthday so she will be ecstatic.
Can finally get my animal crossing town back.
@jimtendog I'm waiting for the Switch Pro before I upgrade from my OG March 2017 model.
If Nintendo ever releases a transparent version (a la the old Game Boy models), I don't think my heart could take it....
@JHDK It is a next-gen system, it isn't a pro but much much more. The new chipset for the next gen is going to be using AI upscalling which will allow handheld games to look as good as xbone and ps4 games and potentially as good as XSX and PS5. nvidia is currently co-developing a custom chipset for next gen Nintendo Switch (I have dubbed it Switch Next). While I don't think it will be leaps and bounds ahead of the current Switch it will be much more capable.
I'm still waiting for a clamshell model before buying an extra Light/Pocket edition.
@0L1V14 That would be a pretty major dealbreaker, for me — one of the Switch's main draws for me was the optional portability of it, and having it tethered to the TV would strip away one of its best features.
@JHDK I don't have a Switch, should I wait for the Pro?
@Andee It would have the opposite effect on me.
@Magitek_Knight If you can find a Switch at retail (don't pay more than $300) with the red box I'd get it now. There is no official word of a Switch Pro even existing yet but everyone seems to think it will come out sooner or later. The newer Switches on shelves (the red box I mentioned) have better battery life than the ones that came out at launch.
@JHDK I won't be using it portably, so battery life shouldn't matter right? I'm not in a position to buy a new console right at this second and even then it won't be my primary system.
@0L1V14 yup! When the WiiU was first announced I thought you'd be able to remove the gamepad completely and take it with you; the fact that you couldn't made it way less appealing — the Switch kinda felt like what the WiiU was a dry run for
