After being revealed at the Future Games Show in June, the strategic survival flight sim Space Crew has locked in a launch date for multiple platforms including the Nintendo Switch.
During Gamescom 2020, the publisher Curve Digital confirmed its next release would be taking off on 15th October. Alongside this announcement was a brand new trailer. Take a look below:
If it looks kind of familiar, that's because it's a follow-up to the 2018 release, Bomber Crew. The goal of this upcoming release is to defend the earth against an extraterrestrial threat known as the Phasmids.
Did you play Bomber Crew? Will you be checking out this epic sci-fi sequel? Comment down below.

Space the final frontier...
Not for me unfortunately. I’m glad they have an audience but too much indie devs making “challenging” games that just frustrate me. There is a larger audience out there. It’s good to see games like A Short Hike and The Last Campfire for a change instead of another rock hard Metroidvania or platformer.
@PuddleStink "...instead of another rock hard Metroidvania or platformer." This game is neither (although I too am sick of Metroidvanias). It actually reminds me of FTL combined with Overcooked. I think it looks interesting, and I love a strategy game. I'm still finishing Steamworld Heist and Mini Metro.
@PuddleStink what annoyed me most was how clunky controls were
The "gameplay mechanic" looks interesting but that is about it. Doesn't wholly grab me yet but I have enjoyed some of Curve's works. So we shall see....
With all the StarTrek nods, I'd love to see more mystery, and maybe some pseudo-philosophic interactions with whatever alien encounters the game presents.
In Next Generation, nothing was EVER just a normal day on the bridge. ^_^;;
Love the concept. Would love to have a "mature" MMO kind of thing. Imagine a vast universe with clans, factions etc. but no single person can fly anything bigger than a shuttle or a small transporter. The capital ships all need a crewa nd you need to level up your skills doing repairs, science stuff, etc... just like in Star Trek.
Would be totally over it.
Until someone ever comes up with that idea in a commercially viable package, I might pick this one up to scratch that itch.
Really leaves me wishing FTL were ported to Switch...
@Milton_Burle If you like Heist, you would love these games. I had a blast with Bomber Crew. I would pick up this one if I had the time.
Ack! I’m playing Bomber Crew now, and judging how slow I’m progressing (grinding a lot to avoid losing my beloved crew), I kindve doubt I’ll finish before Space Crew comes out. It’s okay, though - I’ll probably need a break from this kind of mayhem and stress!
I’ll gladly wait for Space Crew’s “Complete Edition” physical release like I did for Bomber Crew. 👍🏼
@XiaoShao yeah, I would love to play that on my switch. That game is the definition of replayability
