It's been a big week for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with the arrival of Min Min and Version 8.0.0, and now to top it off Nintendo is hosting a special tournament that's only open to fighters who are proud of their arms and fists. Do you see where this going?
The main representative of this tournament is Min Min from ARMS, and she's joined by Ryu from Street Fighter, Donkey Kong, Little Mac, Terry, and the Dark/Fire-type pocket monster Incineroar. This event will start later this week on 3rd July and run for a total of three days.
Will you be testing out Min Min in this upcoming tournament? Leave a comment down below.

I really like the art they make for every event. Just that bit of extra effort they keep on putting into the game.
what about ken??? but i'll play as terry, for sure!!
There's too many fistfighters in Smash.
(But for real, it'd be nice to have a new magic user like Viridi or Ninten)
@JR150
Indeed, or isaac from golden sun. But he is already an assist trophy.
@ReaperExTenebris In ARMS, you fight. Therefore it is a fighting game.
Where is Mii Brawler?
@ReaperExTenebris It's a fighting game. Serious or not. Just because the "FGC" doesn't love it, it doesn't mean its not a fighting game. Shrek Super Slam is a fighting game. What determines whether something is a genre is not popularity. Smash Bros can be considered a party game, the director himself said so and he prefers the term party game. Does this make smash bros not a true fighting game? I don't think so because you fight therefore it's a fighting game.
@ReaperExTenebris @VexingInsanity
Both of you made some very valid points but to me it's similar to the Metal music genre. Not to stray too off topic but it's exactly how the conversations about metal tend to be. Essentially all bands that play metal and/or any sub genre of metal are often straight up considered metal bands. However bands like Dream Theater and Symphony X are progressive metal while bands like Megadeth and Anthrax are thrash metal. And don't even get me started on metalcore, British metal, industrial, heavy, glam, etc. And some bands are a mixed bag of multiple genres (I'm looking at you, Trivium).
The list goes on but I'm just saying that your debate about what is technically a fighting game is the same conversation. Some fighting games are more traditional and fit the genre perfectly. Some are more accessible and "party" style. In that case I'd view something like Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter to be the pure definition of the fighting genre. Smash (and maybe ARMs) to be more in the party fighting genre. With that both would be categorized somewhere in the fighting genre tree. Just like music.
@JR150 Viridi would be amazing! Thinking about Ninten reminds me of Ness... I don't think I Like the idea of a DLC Earthbound/Mother character.
@Reigestugatensho
Actually Ninten is nothing like the other Mother protagonists. Ness and Lucas learn attack based magic in their games, but not Ninten.
https://wikibound.info/wiki/Ninten
His kit is defensive and support based. With PSI/PK moves such as heal, defense, debuffs, and teleporting. Ninten primarily fights with bats and his bare hands so he'd essentially be a small version of Ryu with an emphasis on defense and counterattacks. I think he has potential and could make Mother relevant again.
@JR150 (I_I). Just read the entire history of Earthbound Beginning. I think they could make it work if they make him more graphically different than Ness. The defensive aspect is certainly interesting though.
@Reigestugatensho
Yeah lol. He's basically like a zen sort of kid who fights for the sake of others and not to destroy everything. So long as he does not have PK Fire, I'm all in.
