Last week saw the launch of Ninjala on Nintendo Switch, a new online arena brawler that's often been likened to Nintendo's own Splatoon, and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment has revealed that it has now surpassed a whopping two million downloads.
It actually managed to generate one million downloads in its first 16 hours, and has now reached two million in less than a week. Not all players have had the best experience since the game launched, but GungHo is celebrating the new milestone by offering everyone an in-game gift - simply download the game by 26th August to receive 300 Jala (Ninjala's in-game currency) at no cost.
That's not all, though, as the team has also released the game's sixth dev diary, a new video which focuses on Ranked Matches and how to climb the leaderboards.
Ranked Matches are how players will be able to prove themselves as true IPPON masters! Upon reaching level 5 through Quick Battle or Room Battle games, players will unlock the Ninjala Battle Mode, allowing them to participate in Ranked Matches in both Team Battle mode or Battle Royale mode.
In these matches, players with similar ranks are pitted against each other as they battle their way to the top of the leaderboards. Ranks will increase or decrease after each match depending on performance. Players will receive rewards based on their ranks, and those who finish near the top and earn the rank of ‘Ninja Legend’ or ‘Ninja God,’ will receive special icons at the season’s end.
Have you downloaded Ninjala? How have you been finding it? Make sure to catch up with our full review of the game to learn more.

How many Jala must one spend to earn drift-free Joycon?...
... or at least Funky Mode?
@status-204 It looks like Splatoon sure but it plays very differently, its more melee focused and being on the move constantly. Its really fun in my opinion and worth trying especially as its free 2 play.
So why can I not find the game in the eshop?? I live in the Netherlands but I can't imagine that being the problem.. anyone?
@SoapMonkey Maybe it was blocked for micro transactions?
@SoapMonkey Lootboxes. Change your Nintendo Account country to find it ☺
@Kalmaro @jco83 Oh thanks guy's, gonna check it out later
I've downloaded it but haven't actually played it yet. Too busy replaying Hollow Knight at the moment, but I am definitely interested to give this a go.
@RPGamer The physical version is exclusive to Japan.
@status-204 Know what you are talking about before you start calling it a ripoff its nothing like splatoon its just looks like it.
I don't like f2p games in general.
I'd have been much more likely to check it out at full price honestly.
As a completionist I can't touch stuff like this.
@status-204 Nono it's a Splatoon ripoff aesthetically with a Splatoon-ARMS-Smash hybrid gameplay. It's TOTALLY different.....just like most F2P games from Gung-Ho...
@status-204 your right you said it looks like a ripoff still i think you should give it a shot.
