Pokémon HOME Datamine Supposedly Uncovers New Moves Coming To Sword And Shield

Sounds interesting. Wonder if these moves mean that Game Freak are introducing brand new Pokemon or that new Galarian forms will exclusively learn these moves.

But the real question is... can Zarude learn Sandstorm?

Still waiting for them to fix in the mobile app the Rockruff second non-registering form and the 9th Pikachu non-registering form ... as well as the Forfrous trims. It's been months and it seems Game Freak hasn't even noticed.

My OCD demands it.

You know what would be better than new moves?

Finish porting the old moves.

Most of these are probably new dynamax moves

@playstation_king I don’t believe G-Max moves are in the coding for Pokemon Home, because like Z-Moves they only exist under certain conditions in battles. These are likely to be signature moves for new Galarian Pokemon and new move tutors that were announced in the initial DLC direct.

@Octane true, can really get annoying.

Anyway, quick analysis: Misty Explosion, Grassy Glide, Rising Voltage, Terrain Pulse are probably terrain-specific moves, and get probably powered up when used on their specific terrain (Terrain Pulse being the Psychic Terrain move, even though it seems like a general Terrain move).

Corrosive Gas sounds like a move Salazzle would learn, but thinking about it, it already have Corrosion has its ability, and Corrosive Gas could a version of Poison Gas that is able to poison Steel types. So it would make sense that other (poison type) Pokemon would get it, probably limited to a few.

Poltergeist sounds like a Polteageist move, but an Ghost could potentially learn it.

Shell Side Arm is probably an exclusive move for either Galarian Slowbro, Slowking, or both.

Wicked Blow (dark) and Surging Strikes (water) sound like Urshifu exclusive moves, depending on the form.

Flip Turn is probably a water-type U-Turn.

Scorching Sands could potentially be ground-type move that causes Burn.

It seems like there's a lot of focus on the battle aspects in these DLC so adding new moves makes since. And an older datamine found updated move sets for some, but not all, of Pokemon not currently in SW/SH. So many suspect those are the Pokemon at least being considered for a return.

I think Zapdos with hurricane is my most anticipated change. Long overdue for him to get that move and I can't wait to abuse him in rain!

@playstation_king Very unlikely, almost all of the max moves have "Max-something" as their names.

This isnt 100% confirmed by the way.

One person posted their "datamine findings" without evidence of them doing the mine, we're allegedly assuming this is accurate because of the 1 datamine (everybody has access to the mobile version, but only 1 person datamined it, really?)

Also doesn't help that moves show their typings and descriptions in home which the dataminer didn't conveniently post in their leak. It can still be real, like 80% its real, but its not 100% confirmed until somebody else datamines it.

Lots of discussion on smogon about the datamine leak not being debunked yet.
