Publisher Piko Interactive has revealed that it has acquired the rights to O.D.T. (or O.D.T.: Escape... Or Die Trying as it's known in North America). Interestingly, the deal also includes the rights to the scrapped Nintendo 64 version.
Originally published by Psygnosis, O.D.T. is an action-adventure game that launched on PlayStation and Windows back in 1998. The game sees a team of adventurers set off on a journey to recover an artefact called the Green Pearl after washing up in a crash-landed ship. It didn't review particularly well when it launched, but a Nintendo 64 port was in the works for some time.

Two builds of this N64 release were in development (a North American version and a European version) before the idea was eventually scrapped (thanks, TCRF). Whether Piko Interactive has plans to actually bring this dead port back to life isn't clear just yet, but it sure would be interesting to see an official release after all this time.
Have you played this game on PlayStation? Would you like to see how it would have played on N64? Tell us below.
Thanks to Vitas for the tip!

I’d be more interested in them releasing a finished version of Dragon Sword which they acquired the rights to last year, although it would be great if they finished and released the N64 version of this too.
I have their copy of 40 Winks for the N64 that they finished and released. While the quality of box and manual looks and feels cheap compared to official releases from back in the day, I still find it fascinating they are doing this with unreleased games. I really hope they finish and release Dragon Sword though, that game actually looks quite good.
Meh, that game was terrible so nope the N64 version could just stay dead. Not sure why of all games Piko Interactive could had revive, why bring back a terrible game? Why not something decent like
Glover, Pandemonium!, Gex, or WipEout? Would had been nice to see one of those than boring ODT. At this point they might as well revive Rise of the Robots and Ballz while they're at it.
@retro_player_77 according to Wikipedia, they’ve got the rights to Glover, so it may yet happen.
@gaga64 @retro_player_77 if they could finish and release Glover 2 for the N64, that would be amazing!
@retro_player_77 They plan to release Glover 2 if a certain Kickstarter project is successful.
I remember this on PlayStation. I didn't really enjoy it. Would be interesting to see how it's held up however (I'm guessing not very well).
@retro_player_77 well they only release games that were usually finished and never actually published in the end or have translated games from places like Taiwan. Also many of those games you listed already have active copyrights Wipeout still actively being used by Sony. They aren't simply releasing games that were popular in the past and are able to be purchased in physical form.
I would hope the game was essentially finished, as I know Nintendo Power did a full article and review on the game back in the day.
(one of the few post-SNES issues I happened to buy of NP)
@brandonbwii - I inquire about this Kickstarter, good sir. What are you referring to?
I'm surprised anyone actually wanted this, it wasn't exactly a classic.
@Paraka I read it in their Jim Power campaign. If it’s successful they should be able to pursue other endeavors such as Glover 2 and Dragon Sword. Just typical publisher speak to drum up support really. FYI, Jim Power did surpass its funding goal.
I have vague memories reading about this in the Pak Watch section in an issue of Nintendo Power.
@brandonbwii - Interesting, got a link? My searches are coming up with wierd math related game thingies.
I was hyped for this when it first released on psone as it was marketed as a spiritual successor to my favourite game The Chaos Engine.
It was pretty awful gameplay wise and I struggled to complete it, but it had a very strong and intriguing aesthetic much like shadowman, id be tempted to get it if this happened
@Paraka I checked again and I can’t find it. Idk if I’m overlooking it, if I saw it somewhere else, or if they deleted it. Here’s the link to try and check for yourself https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/retrogames/jim-power-a-nes-snes-genesis-turbografx-and-cd32-game?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=Jim%20power
