We do love a good bit of fanart here at Nintendo Life, so it felt only right to share this wonderful take on classic N64 platformer Banjo-Kazooie's box art.
Twitter user @Petey_Pariah has transformed the game's famous cover, replacing all of its box star characters with the Pokémon which most closely resemble them. We see Ursaring taking the place of Banjo, a shiny Cramorant as Kazooie (a particularly nice touch), Grimmsnarl as Grunty, and plenty more.
First, let's quickly remind ourselves of the full box art (the image below shows the North American cover):
And here's @Petey_Pariah's take. Truly wonderful stuff.

Wow, that looks amazing.
That’s so cool
Actually I don't like it at all
Am I the only one who saw Banjo-Kazooie on Nintendo Life and had a tiny moment of hope we were getting it on Switch (or something like that) only to be disappointed it was an article about fan art?
The picture is nice, but you’re playing with my fragile emotions here.
@Kienda
Every time bro
Neat, reminds me of the official Super Mario Bros 1 themed Pokemon illustration.
It's certainly a great effort, clearly must have taken many hours...
Love it! I would definitely play such a spin-off.
@Kienda You're not. Let's get Rare Replay for Switch already! The art is pretty good though.
It's great art. It's a Pokemon crossover right?
@Kienda not the only one
Come on Microsoft, please give us Rare Replay
That's clever. It fits pretty well.
I love it and it's a really good representation of the various generations/regions
I'm a huge Banjo & Kazooie fan, but not a fan of Pokemon. Still, I really like this art. It's pleasing to the eye. And while not a fan of Pokemon personally, I still like it (for my kids) and recognize the characters.
Is this the North American box art for Banjo (I see what looks like the USA's ESRB stamp). I'm guessing the box art was the same in all territories? Or was there already a "Box Art Brawl" for Banjo on this site?
I love this!!! sigh if only we had Banjo Kazooie on Switch... I play whenever I go home for Christmas.
The art work is awesome. I predict that the switch Will get banjo kazooie 1&2 at some point in time. Either as stand alone games, or as part of the rare replay. Because nintendo and microsoft are business partners these days. Last week Tuesday, 18 nes games dropped on xbox one. Complete with nes box art, and even name drops nintendo "NES" in the game descriptions. I bought river city ransom for my xbox and couldn't be happier:)
That's pretty cool.
