With Super Mega Baseball 3 just around the corner, developer Metalhead Software has released a brand new video to give us a closer look at the game.
As well as showing off some new footage, the video talks us through a broad overview of the things you can expect to find in next month's release. The team stresses that while the game sports a goofy, over-the-top aesthetic style, the baseball sim underneath is a sophisticated and accurate representation of the real deal.
Among other things, such as a quick look at the game's customisation offerings, it also touches upon the single-player experiences available. It sounds like there'll be plenty of options to choose from depending on how long you're wanting to spend with the new release, with one mode in particular promising more than 250 hours in total.
As a reminder, Super Mega Baseball 3 will release this April with cross-platform play on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and Steam. Are you looking forward to it? Tell us below.

Just played the demo for SMB2 there after seeing this article, I've been meaning to try it for ages. I really like it and 3 looks to be even better. Definitely going to get it.
I'm not a fan of baseball in the slightest but I used to enjoy playing a game on the Megadrive, I forget the name of it.Ive actually been to a real MLB game, Pittsburgh Pirates v San Francisco Giants back in 2006. By baseball standards, this match was as bad as it could possibly be. No scoring until the final innings and the game was delayed for over 2 hours right in the middle due to a thunder storm. Despite that though, it was a great experience. As a Brit, I never imagined myself being at a MLB game. It's a shame I hadn't gone to Pittsburgh a few months earlier as that was a year the Steelers won the Superbowl.
@RickD Super mega Baseball 2 is brilliant. The character models really grow on you. If you like Baseball you’ll love it.
there's no way those screens are from the switch version
I am a big sports game fan so I might have to check this out. NBA2K is the only sports game I have on my Switch right now.
I somehow resisted last years version but this looks too good to pass up.
2:07 Cool, you can use female players as well.
SMB2 is really a great baseball game in the Baseball Stars tradition. The gameplay is really good and if you pitch like a Major league (change speeds, location, hit corners), you can stifle opposing offenses. And I'll second the inclusion of female players.
This is the best sports game I've played on Switch. Surprisingly in my top5 overall, by hours.
It's really an ode to the sport. The gameplay and attention to detail are top notch.
SMB 3 will be a little too expensive day one buy for me but it looks great.
Speaking of, on 4/10 Metalhead put out a 9 minute video all about new features. Check the interweb.
