Pixel Junk Minsters 2 is pretty good.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 is certainly worth a try at that price. Very fun game
Everyone buy AI; it's a marvelous game.
Just an FYI to anyone thinking of grabbing S;G 0... an Elite version of that game has been announced for Switch.
PixelJunk Monsters 2 is good but it is ruined by excruciating long load times. Even when you restart the same level because you messed up, it loads forever.
Tempted by Somnium Files but still a bit steep for an impulse buy. On the fence at the moment... I'll check a few reviews.
@Ralizah Interesting, I somehow missed that news. I've already played Steins;Gate 0 and was planning to check out the anime sometime soon but I might put that idea on hold now.
@Moistnado It was my favourite new game of 2019. So good.
I ended up getting an EU copy of AI for Christmas, and the game thinks it's pirated since my account is a North American account. There's an anti-piracy feature that stops me from finishing the game near the end of the game. I've been working with support from both the publisher and developer, but haven't been able to resolve the issue. At that price, I might double dip for a NA copy so I can play through it. I was enjoying myself thoroughly before I got stuck. Hopefully my save file works across regions and physical / digital copies.
@bstie1198 That's quite bizarre, haven't heard of anything like that with any Switch game before. Did the support stuff confirm that it's definitely an anti-piracy thing? If that's really the case I wonder what would happen if you were to change the region of your Nintendo account and load up the game.
@bstie1198 Unless I am mistaken, Switch is region free. You can open an EU account.
@Moistnado AI has a demo
And the Physical remained high as ever....
Support didn't confirm that it's anti-piracy, but the only other people I've seen with the same issue was on a reddit thread for pirating Switch games. Basically, a Quick Time Event late in the game doesn't accept any button inputs, and you automatically fail and get a game over. I realize I could probably have switched my account to an EU one, but I worry about some sort of complications arising from changing regions there and back (especially after hitting this bug). I already hit purchase on a new digital copy, so at this point, I'm going to cut my losses and move on. It doesn't look like my save file is going to be usable across regions, so I lost about nine hours of progress, but I can probably get back there much faster this time now that I know what I'm doing and I don't feel the need to exhaust every possible item interaction on my way to where I was.
Pixeljunk Monsters2 is one of my girlfriends favorite game
Haven't even beaten Steins;Gate yet so not in a hurry to get the sequel. Got AI at launch. PixelJunk Monsters 2 could be fun though. I've kept an eye on it and that's a nice price drop.
@bstie1198 My guess would be that it's just some random bug that you were unlucky to come across or something like that. It really shouldn't matter what region your account is when playing any Switch game from any region so I doubt that that's actually the cause of the issue. In any case, good luck with your new playthrough. Fingers crossed you get through without any issues this time as the game is great, it'd be a shame not being able to finish it.
Will definitely get pixeljunk monsters, less confident will actually get round to playing it.
I'm a fool.
AI: Somnium Files is one of 2019’s best games, and definitely one of the top visual novel type games on Switch. Check it out, y’all.
@Ralizah I’ve only played the regular Steins;Gate games and watched the animes. The Elite games seem weird to me.
I know the creator called this the “evolution of the visual novel,” or something similar, but I’m not sure reading a little then watching anime scenes is how I’d ever wanna play one of those.
Anyways, I love Steins;Gate. I enjoyed S;G0 far less than the original, but it was still fun.
Just bought Somnium Files! I would have preferred it on PS4 since I read that's the better experience but I've also been dying to play this game and waiting for a good sale since it came out
Already have Pixel Junk Monsters 2, but I'll take a look at the DLC for it now.
Picked up Somnium Files finally. Been wanting this game and it has been really worth it so far!
BRING DANGANRONPA TO SWITCH, YOU COWARDS.
Gonna echo the praise for AI. It's a bit more lighthearted and fun than the Zero Escape series (has a dash of wacky characters and designs reminiscent of Ace Attorney) but IMO that works in its favor.
I found the dream segment gameplay a little disappointing overall - it isn't really logical puzzles like ZE, which is OK, but the branching paths were mostly based on arbitrary and obvious path branches in the sequences, imo. But still, it's really just dressing for a fun and engaging story.
Just got Pixel Junk Monsters 2 and what an amazing game! My only complaint is towards the very long loading times, but everything else shines.
Loving these sales! Sadly no titles of interest for me this time around.
I am Tempted in Both AI and YU-NO.
@Olliemar28 I already played the heck out of the series, but I’d love to see those games on Switch. So so good.
I have the original Steins;Gate for Vita, still need to play it, will wait on any more of those till I've crossed that off the backlog.
However I'm definitely considering AI. I asked for it for Christmas but didn't get it, and I love the Zero Escape games.
@bstie1198 did you try to go back in the timeline and redo everything until this point to see if the bug is still here ?
@Dman10 thank you
Technically not full library since complete edition of pikeljunk not on sale
Is Yu-No a good VN?
I love games like Steins:Gate, AI Somnium files and Phoenix Wright etc.
I bought YU-NO thinking it would be an easy game , like Root Letter. Boy was i wrong, lesson learned, never buy a game without watching a video or two about how many routes and branches there are. This thing has more branches than Virtue's Last Reward, and that game was already too long and complicated for me. So unless you like very long visual novels with more branches than 3 bonsai trees, skip YU-NO. Another warning, YU-NO is for adults only unlike Root Letter, which is suitable even for teenagers. so many adult themes on YU-NO. I don't know why it is PEGI 17 , it should be for adults only.
Al Somnium is an SJW game, so unless you are an SJW or like SJW nonsense, never buy it, its got a political agenda to it.
I want to try Phoenix Wright, but i'm checking as many gameplay videos as possible before i buy. I don't want to end up getting another YU-NO or Virtue's Last Reward.
Do they not do anything more than Visual novels and Tower Defense? Not my jam at all.
@bstie1198 You really should have a second account on your Switch under European region. I've bought so many games on American sales through an alt account and it's saved time waiting for those sales to hit here and money even. You don't even have to use that account for the save, but I guess in your case you woukd want to use the Euro account to play. It's strange to see mechanics like this in region free games even when Spirit Tracks used to have something similar, but that was for pirated copies, especially released by Nintendo.
Steins;Gate Elite and PixelJunk Monsters 2 with both DLC for me!
I would rather have Fire Prowrestling World on the Switch instead.
@nathatruc Yeah, that was one of the suggestions from support. No luck.
Really want to buy AI but that's still much too high for me right now, need to complete some other games first before I can justify it.
@Ralizah Ohhh that sounds wonderful! I already have 0 on Switch so I will be double dipping. I'm okay with that.
AI is a great game that deserves to be played by more people.
Q: do I treat myself to AI given it's my birthday next weekend?
A: yes, I think I might.
I just bought both Pixeljunk 2 DLC's.
kicking myself for not getting AI on Amazon when it was 39.99. waiting for a good price on physical. Danganronpa is tailor made for the Switch. they should bring the trilogy.
