Oh, no !
Consoles and Nintendo are doomed !!!
According to a clueless hack "journalist"writing for the Financial Times.
Who knew a fun fitness game that actually works in helping you get fit would have legs?
I'm on like day 72 now, level 160, world 21. Don't see me stopping anytime soon.
Nintendoomed!
What would you expect from NintenDoomed bahahahahah
Here's some stark numbers:
PlayStation 4 Pro: 2,436 (1,435,533)
vs
Nintendo Switch Lite: 21,049 (1,270,589)
How does such a underpowered and lackluster GPU and outdated hardware BEAT a ps4 pro.
@Iacobus I'm thinking of taking the plunge myself. How much are you enjoying it as a game? Is it enough to keep you entertained as well as fit and once you complete it does it start again as new game+ or something?
I do wonder what will happen as soon as the PS5 is released. (XBOX Series X will not do much in Japan)
Only 8 out of the top 10 slots? If Nintendo don't alter these trends, they might go out of business by the year 2525
No where near the end yet, but Nintendo must be thinking DLC for ring fit
Interesting. Pokemon seems to be slowing down. It still may very well outpace Smash soon enough, but perhaps not as fast as first thought. There is also digital presence to consider also I suppose.
@Duncanballs Just like how they were thinking DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Party.
@AnnoyingFrenzy
SMM2 did get DLC about 2 months ago with Nintendo confirming more is on the way.
@Toy_Link oh that's right, I forgot about the link update. Thanks for reminding me.
@sikthvash If man is still alive. 😉
I really wish they'd put the Lite sales in with the home consoles, e en if it isn't, nobody cares about 3DS or 2DS sales anymore anyway.
I wonder if Ring Fit helps kill Labo, if it isn't dead already. Maybe Nintendo can make a plastic VR holder at least.
@Iacobus Nice! Day 16, Level 91, World 12. And I shed my 5+ lbs. of holiday weight already! Hoping I can make some kind of a New Game+ out of it, but I won't be shattered if I can't. Then again, it's fun, works all the muscle groups, and would continue to help me with stamina, so maybe I should find a way...
@rjejr We'll all be plugged into the Amiibo Matrix by then. We can all look forward to knowing kung fu and experiencing proper Nintendo cloud saves.
@T7Hokage017 Set the difficulty to max! That's how I plan on doing a New Game+, at the moment.
@sikthvash I was believing all of that until you got to the part about proper Nintendo cloud saves.
Nintendo completely owns Japan. That is their Market. They're slowly taking China by Storm too with news that the Chinese is importing ring fit in record numbers from Japan. This is definitely going to increase awareness of the Nintendo switch in the mainland China. Once the penetration is more significant Nintendo will quickly reach 100 million units sold of their console
That RingFit is still there and Luigi Mansion 3 is gone is just sad. At least the West made sure LM3 outsold it by more than 2X1.
This is the most Monotone chart in the World. Everybody on Switch are playing cartoon graphics made by Nintendo 🤦♂️
All our 3rd party and Indie developers would go bankrupt if up to Japan (Well Except for Microsoft 🙃)
Nintendo couldnt even take all top 10.. Nintendo is doomed.
Them legs. Legs everywhere. Pleased for Ring Fit. Nice to see new IP doing well, plus it is really good.
I just ordered this! Was on the fence but heard great things about it. Also the accessibility functions for my Disabled Partner means she can join in too!!! Plus I could do with losing some weight, curse of a middle aged gamer.
People want to get fit for Valentine's day. People are so predictable.
Ring Fit Adventure is amazing, and it's actually helping me through a winter depression and a break up. Few games can make you actually, physically (and mentally as a result) feel good. Playing on the highest level, character level 215 since this morning, and I feel actually fit, so it's not just some numbers in a virtual world.
@SwitchForce Because you would have to be a fool to buy a PS4 today. The PS5 is right around the corner.
Switch sales are up 28% YoY in Japan thus far.
Those expecting Switch sales to collapse in 2020 due to PS5/XBSX anticipation and release should re-calibrate their expectations.
Yep i just don't understand Ring Fit Adventure, I think it would be easier to think about getting it if you knew for sure they'd use the gimmick included with it in more than 1 game. Always some peripheral that gets used for one thing and then goes by the wasteside.
@Ooccoo_Jr I enjoy it very much as a game as there's plenty to do as far as exercises that are masked as games are concerned. On top of that, you can create your own routines (up to 3 sets of up to 8 (I think it's 8) exercises each), all customizable. e.g., Do 20 front presses followed by 8 squats, followed by 20 planks. You can even program them to repeat.
Once you go through the Adventure (23 Worlds, iirc), you can start over with a harder difficulty. I believe you can do this twice.
The only caveat I have with this game is you get out of it what you put into it, as with any regimen. About 10 minutes of total exercise per day is all that's needed. Sadly, a lot of people in my friends list have dropped out of Ring Fit. Your motivation will be key. You'll want to set goals to attain to help with this.
Me? At 49 years, I have to say I haven't looked this good since I was in my 20's---maybe even better now that I think about it. I can't get rid of the grays coming in but the march of time stops for no one.
I fancy trying Ring Fit Adventure, still intend to buy it at some point. Don't really need extra exercise but it still looks like good fun.
The amount of evergreen Nintendo titles is just amazing. New Horizons will be yet another.
Really happy for RFA too, I'm glad that people are getting positive results too.
Still don't know why Microsoft is still selling the Xbone in Japan if it continues to sell less than 50-100 copies every week.
Ring fit adventure is exactly the reason why I love Nintendo so much. Nintendo are never afraid to just try new things out that other companies would never in a million years try. Yes some of them flop, Labo heres looking at you, but some are really fun and push games in new directions.
@Ooccoo_Jr Forgot to mention one thing: If you pick up Ring Fit, be sure to invest in a good yoga/exercise mat, especially if you have a hard floor. Otherwise, skills like boat poses and planks will have you in agony. xD
@dougphisig It's really just a glorified/electronic Pilates ring, which is a genuine way to do a workout. (Before anyone asks, there are electronics in the Ring-Con, notably a flex sensor.) Nintendo found a way to capitalize on that, much to everyone's benefit.
@Iacobus I'm a big nintendo fan, but I just get tired of them putting out these peripherals to never touch them again most of the time by only making 1 game that uses them, it's hard to want to pick up one of these types of things when they do so little with it. I never quite got why nintendo doesn't support more of these products.
Considering the tech in both the ring and the joycons I really hope some third parties bring out some fitness games that utilise it.
And this is supposed to be a slow time of year for game sales.
>How does such a underpowered and lackluster GPU and outdated hardware BEAT a ps4 pro.
By fitting in your pocket?
@Iacobus Thanks for taking the time to reply. I shall finally give this a go I reckon and will take your advice and nick the missus' yoga mat. Hopefully I can stick at it this time.
Lol, I love how Ring Fit beat pokemon. I'm still loving RFA and using it multiple times a week. It's a fantastic workout and actually fun. With all this success I'm hoping they release DLC of some kind and maybe even work the Ring Fit Adventurer into Smash. Haha
@Ooccoo_Jr Yeah, it really is good as a game, not just a workout. The characters and dialogue are funny and clever and while you're sweating and working out, you've got all the right things going gameplay wise to itch that 'just one more' feeling. Skill trees, leveling up, crafting to make buff items, bosses and mini bosses with dragon ball Z-esque tests of power, abilities that unlock new ways to traverse levels, the works. Not to mention fun ways to interact with any friends who are also playing. You'll enjoy it. It's very well made and really fun! Got it in November and am working out for about an hour a few times a week and apparently I'm only about halfway through it.
@Agramonte Monotone? Most western charts have very little variety at all, a pile of shooters, a sports game or two and GTA. Mostly with scowling men and women. I see a lot of game styles here and if you walk around Japan even outside gaming cute imagery is used to sell and promote tons of things. Miserable mannequins and bobbing guns aren't really their cup of tea.
Sometimes Nintendo can't be too comfortable, they ll think they are untouchable like during the Wii time and then Wii U happens again.
I hope they started developing their next gen system already while further cashing in on Switch which is of course well deserved.
@WiltonRoots Our charts has Luigi Mansion 3 also. It just does not have 7 games all from 1 publisher.
Yes, we buy DOOM and Metro (not all shooters are bad) but people also buy Pokemon. BOTW was hit, so was Witcher 3 (sold 7,000 in Japan). We buy Mario Kart from Nintendo - but also F12019, DIRT and GRID from CodeMaster. Everyone actually has a chance. The US top 10 for 2019 has 7 different publishers in the top 10... Japan? 2.
Japanese pop culture are some of the most Ultra Violent/sexually themed in the world. Just because they do not use "guns" does not change that. And in both places just 1 part of the whole... that do not represent everyone in either place
@Agramonte meh. Regardless of what you think, they are not mad on western games, that will never change, I don't get your hate towards Japanese games. Whenever they do well it seems to upset you. You always seem to get excited when a western game does well over there and pissed off when it's all Asian. Different countries different customs.
It's like expecting German bands to do well in the Philippines.
@WiltonRoots Seeing how you can click on "last week chat" and find me gushing over 2 Japanese games... this has nothing to do with hate on Japanese Games. And my examples ranged from Japanese/Western. I did not say they had to change and I said it was Monotone... that does not mean I hate what is on it.
