Fortnite Chapter 2's second season is about to start, and Epic Games has just released two trailers showing what it will all be about.
Dubbed 'Top Secret', this new season is all about tuxedo-wearing spies and supervillains. And naturally, we'll be getting new skins, too; Secret Agent Peely is shown off in the trailer, and new characters – such as the muscle-bound kitty Meowscles, baddy Midas, explosives expert Tntina and the highly-customisable Maya – are also on the way.
Special missions available in the Battle Pass will allow you to pick 'Ghost' or 'Shadow' variants of your selected agent. The Battle Pass trailer also hints at 'limited time operations' which will change the 'fate of the island' forever.
In both trailers released, Marvel's Deadpool is briefly shown – a reminder that a crossover event is planned this season, too.
Downtime has already begun so expect to see the update go live sometime today.

This is the first new season I probably won't play. The game has got extremely boring for me now
Avoiding this game like the plague. I’ll never understand it’s so called appeal.
000 interest from me.
It won't make you feel like James Bond now will it
This game really makes you feel like James Bond
9.1/10 It has a little something for everyone
Dammit, you had me at Deadpool.
Bonus points for the split-second cameo of him holding a tuxedo being a reference to the "Jace Burns" story arc that parodies the James Bond franchise - it just came out in Italy and it was brilliant from beginning to end.
The fact that Deadpool was added to the season pass, and not as a stand alone skin, has definitley made me certain to buy this season pass. I hope future season passes add in crossover characters as well.
@AlexSora89 Spoilers, but the cameos don't end there. He has his own little hide out in the main screen of the game, and he has a few Deadpool themed challenges for you to complete in order to unlock him.
@Maschinenmensch maybe avoiding it is why you don't understand it. It's very easy to understand its appeal, but stating your dislike of the game as if it's globally factual doesn't make you special
@LetsGoSwitch It was only boring beacouse they wanted to make the game stable. But try the new season, you might like it
This looks awesome. I never understood Fortnite for the longest time but now love it. The new map is also a million times better than the previous one.
No....NO!!!Quantum physics forbids this!
@LetsGoSwitch this past season was a vast improvement - they brought it back to how it was originally - I played more this season than I have in any other season yet.
@Maschinenmensch then why did you click on the link?
@Lordplops cool - then next time you can skip even clicking on the article - I mean - what's the point of saying you have no interest?
Isn’t Deadpool NOT suitable for kids?
@Maschinenmensch erm... this is an article about Fortnite(?). If you’re trying to “avoid it like the plague” then you need to try harder...
Or, y’know, actually give it a go since it’s actually a really good game, free and fair with its micro-transactions (more so than most F2P games).
@tobsesta99 Nor is John Wick but nobody complained about that.
@tobsesta99 This'll be fortnite's third crossover with an R rated movie lmao
@tobsesta99 fortnite was originally not suitable for children, then it became an internet meme sensation and is now basically this generation's G.I Joe.
And Disney has basically watered down Deadpool to the point of "Hey look! I'm breaking the 4th wall LMAO" is all we can remember him for nowadays.
@Coach_A @Coach_A @Ajent I played it for an hour with my teenaged nephew a month or so back. It bored me to death and I hate it.
@MJF I can state my opinion like anyone else; why are you so worked up?
@Maschinenmensch that’s fair enough, even if it is a little strong.
You’re still conversing on an article about it though... just pointing out the irony that you state you want to ‘avoid’ it yet you’re intentionally engaging with content centred around something you ‘hate’.
@Noid John Wick is R-rated basically for just violence which can be be toned down (plus he already had a skin that was a reference to him).
@patbacknitro18
Wait, he's free?!?!
@Ajent agreed, sir.
@Maschinenmensch an hour is hardly long enough to understand and become familiar with the mechanics and systems the game has in place.
Don't get me wrong, I am not the biggest Fortnite fan, but I did put in probably around 300 hours across Xbox and Switch through 2018/19. The appeal of the game comes from the familiarity of 3rd person shooting, the uniqueness of the building mechanic, full cross-platform support to play with ANY of your friends and the customisation options for your character to help make you stand out and create a sense of individualism (however falsely perceived that may be).
@Coach_A it’s a snore, dude. Fortnite isn’t a genuine game in my eyes. It’s just a distraction for young teenagers drain hours of their life away with no real plot, goal or adventure.
@Maschinenmensch Again, understand that is your opinion and nothing more.
I am personally over fortnite as well and it's been over 6 months since I last played, but wasting your energy by harbouring negative feelings towards the game won't change anything.
All video games are meant as a distraction. All media in general is meant as a distraction. How people choose to use their time is not in your control and, given they aren't hurting anyone, let them have fun.
@Maschinenmensch Couldn't that apply to any multiplayer focused game? Not everything is about the plot or adventure
Looking forward to trying out some of the missions down the line. It's nice to have these little PVE areas to give new players a chance to get comfortable.
@Maschinenmensch Gotta love the "so called" appeal
@Mew blech. Just... blech.
@Maschinenmensch ironically, you seem to be the only one here acting like a child.
@Maschinenmensch I'm not worked up - I asked a simple question.
obviously you are free to waste your time commenting on a thing that you don't care about - but the question stands - why even click the link if you don't care?
it is quite telling that you take the question as hostile
@Coach_A you should give it a try again - I stopped playing probably around the same time you did - the game was so cluttered with dumb garbage - they started over with chapter two and brought it back pretty close to how it was at the beginning - but with a bunch of the problems fleshed out
@MJF what is the matter with you? You’re acting like a child now, obsessing over my simple comment. Grow up.
@Coach_A that’s just you, boo. Bother someone else about your observations. You’re a very vindictive sort it would seem.
@Maschinenmensch why are you so worked up? I asked a simple question, and instead of answering, you lash out.
@MJF I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'd rather spend my time on other games still. Witcher 3 and Rocket League are more than enough to hold me over for the foreseeable future. Then I have a massive backlog to claw through
@Coach_A I've been playing a lot of Octopath and FE 3 (wait) 4 Houses
itching to get Luigi's Mansion - but this backlog you speak of - the disease spreads and is airborne
