We've witnessed some surprising and spectacular cross-platform collaborations recently, although we're having trouble thinking of something we'd rather see come to fruition in a real game than this brilliant fusion of Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Aloy from Guerrilla Games' PS4 hit Horizon: Zero Dawn, courtesy of 3D artist Victor Herranz.
Herranz, who works at Gameloft, has mixed the two bow users into one character combining elements from both series into the costume. 'Zeldaloy', as Herranz dubbed her, has two mini Hylian shields as kneepads and Aloy's furry boots and more rugged outdoor wear:
Elsewhere the artist has reimagined another princess, probably best known in her apple-loving Disney guise. You've certainly heard of her, although you may be surprised to learn she's a Super NES fan:
She's probably playing Super Mario Kart if that leaning and 'concentration tongue' is anything to go by. Be sure to check out Herranz's Artstation page for more examples and a whole load of brilliant artwork.
Aloy and Zelda - a great mashup, no? Let us know what other video game characters you think would fuse together well, possibly following some science experiment gone wrong (or right).

That Snow White looks like she’d have a million subscribers on Twitch and entire fanbases dedicated to her feet.
Ok, this need to be official for both games!
This is the Zelda I'd like to see/play as in BOTW2
That's a really cool mash-up!
I wonder how much money Guerilla Games and Sony would shell out for a Zelda DLC costume for Horizon after seeing this....
I'd rather have Zelda and Ally separately... Twice as many awesome female characters this way!
Really awesome! Can only dream for a "Breath of the Horizon" featuring Zeldaloy.
100% adds to me wanting Zelda to be playable in BOTW2.
The Snow White artwork looks something straight out of Wreck it Ralph.
Christ, those are horrible...
I can’t think of anything I’d rather see less than these Zelda/ Horizon concepts.
shudder
@Savino Neither did I. Zero freedom, hackneyed writing, dreadful character names.
Aloy?
Rost?
Laughably bad.
If I say Zeldaloy looks cute, will I be called a cartoon lover?
Ah what the heck, I’ve been called worse here,
Idk she kinda cuute tho 😳
I hope that "dirty long hair" trend will stop.
It's hard to believe that after all these years since the original game not one of them has let us play as Zelda. I know a new game starring her as the main character would probably be too much but give us something. Even if just for a short segment. It's called legend of zelda after all. Show us why she's a legend!
Oh and no Hyrule warriors doesn't count. I'm talking about an actual main series game. No spinoffs.
@Zeldafan79 we did get to play with her in Spirit Tracks, technically.
@Zeldafan79 Spirit Tracks on the DS doesn't count? You can control Zelda whenever she possesses one of the Phantom soldiers in the Tower of Spirits.
Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Puke.
I like HZD. I like BOTW. Please do not combine them. They go together like peanut butter and sausage.
@nessisonett To be fair, she likely already has that IRL even before the art....
I would love a game where Zelda was the playable character, you could even make it a choice so those who want Link can have Link but those what want to play as Zelda can. Story could apply to both so if you choose Link he will get the story but if you pick Zelda she will get the story instead. Best way to think of it is how Dishonered 2 done it.
Going to echo the let us play as Zelda sentiment. It makes sense to me that after all these generations, Gannon should try to break the cycle of defeat by incapacitating (or killing :0) Link leaving Zelda to defeat him on her own. Make her an archer mage to change up the gameplay a bit as well.
That's some really nice art there.
Yea no thanks. Leave it alone.
Ew why does she had to do a peace sign. No peace sign she is zelda who is serious.
@dudujencarelli
Oh yeah forgot about that. Good game! Terribly underrated.
@Savino It was horrible. Since I have bought it, I was playing i wishing it to end. Only players with little experience in video games liked it I think. It was a mash up of other games (tomb raider, Zelda, monster hunter, so, whoever has played these games was getting nothing new from the game) and its story was at most childish and boring to the death. So... I do get why you didn't like it.
This could be a really cool concept for maybe how Zelda's daughter could act.
The Zelda from Breath of the Wild seems too gentle to me for this to be "her," per se, IMO.
P.S. – I really loved Horizon: Zero Dawn
That's very nice.
