Ring Fit Adventure doesn't look like it'll be slowing down anytime soon – with Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa revealing sales have continued to grow since its release on the Switch last October. The game has been particularly popular in East Asia and has rapidly sold out on a number of occasions.
At today's financial results briefing, the president once again apologised on behalf of the Japanese company for the current shortages around the world:
Many consumers are still waiting, and I would like to apologize again for this inconvenience.
While Ring Fit Adventure has taken a bit longer to catch on in certain parts of the globe, its current cumulative sell-through in Japan, North America, and Europe exceeds 1.7 million:
No detailed sell-through information is available for the Asian region, so totals include only the major Japanese/North American/European regions. Currently, cumulative sellthrough has exceeded 1.7 million units.
A lot of Ring Fit Adventure's success in certain regions can be credited to word-of-mouth stories about users losing weight after playing the game for a prolonged period. All of this is somewhat reminiscent of the stories we heard when Fitness Boxing was released.

It's fun and must be working since I'm sore after.
My siblings are wimps and refuse to touch it.
Its a really good excercise game and definitely worth the money. I'm glad is been doing so well, this game is a very effective work out and a really fun turn-base RPG, they did a fantastic job making this game!
(Who knows, maybe we'll get Ring Fit Adventurer as the next DLC pack character for Smash lol)
I just broke 1 hour of exercise time in it. I did 58 minutes yesterday. 260 squats and my legs aren't in casts and stitches, so it must be getting me healthier! Lol
But seriously, for anyone concerned as to whether or not "it's a good workout" or "if it will keep me dedicated," yes, it will do both of those things AND in a fun way, so don't hesitate!
Will you burn a ton of calories in a short amount of time compared to, say, martial arts training? No. But it will work all of your muscle groups and prepare you for something intense. And, you'll have a fun time with the RPG mechanics and humor all the while. For me, having been on-and-off of exercise and certainly out of shape after trying (and failing) to navigate a marriage that was knowingly going to be very difficult, Ring Fit Adventure making exercise fun is a blessing and I think will prep anyone for their long-term goals (especially because you can choose your difficulty and set less strenuous attacks).
@Chibi_Manny Exactly, this is what I was thinking when I saw Fire Emblem DLC for Smash. They will probably add their IP again to boost sales and have a different character this time - no swordfighter again. They have also ready moves, music, stages. Tipp (male / female) with its graphics is "fit" to the game.
I finally got one in Game this week, the guy said 'that's the last one I'll see of those for a few months'.
It's so hard to find in the UK.
It's brilliant. Really enjoying this one.
@nkarafo Tipp is the blank faced tutorial instructor, bit too similar to Wii Fit Trainer.
I obviously know who you meant, I suppose they’re called “Ring Fit Adventurer”.
@lyle_catcliffe Yes, you are right, my mistake! The adventurers were the ones that I was writing about. Tipp is the faceless instructor...
Really got into it, but hell squads will forever hurt. The quote that the baboon said in Bojack Horseman does not apply to Ring Fit.
I've been playing for three weeks now and it is amazing. Fun game and a great workout. I look foward to my sessions and feel great. I was already a fairly active person and I work out semi-regularly, so it hasn't magically transformed my body, but I can feel results in areas that I wasn't working consistently before.
I'm happy it's selling well, I'd love to see it get DLC or a sequel (on Switch please, not the next generation).
Love this game! Just played it a couple times, as I'm a lazy person and it's not in my routine yet. How consistent are you guys?
I would if I could find it anywhere.
Searched high and low for it and ended up buying an exercise bike instead.
Will probably still pick it up if / when it becomes more readily available.
The exercise bike is great for fitness but will still be nice to mix things up a little
@Marios-love-child I've spent hours playing Splatoon 2 while on an exercise bike, it's a great option with the Switch thanks to the split joycons, makes it much easier/more comfortable as you can put your arms where you want and move them around without having to keep two hands on a single controller in front of you.
@gcunit
I'd actually never thought of try that. Thanks for the heads up
I'll usually just put an Episode of Coronation street on and peddle my way through it
My kids and I take turns trying to beat each other's mini game scores. I'm lucky, here in the USA it's easy to find
Yeah, it's everywhere in the States. Love this game so much! It's been my primary workout method since November and it's still kicking my butt.
It's an exercise simply finding the game! Granted, Russia is not a huge market for Nintendo, so when I tried to find a place to buy the game online (in Russia), it was sold out everywhere!
