One of the most exciting things about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 7.0.0 is the fact it includes new Mii costumes.
Cuphead is arguably the highlight of this new batch and takes on the form of a Mii Gunner. If you do end up purchasing the Cuphead Mii Gunner Costume, you'll also get the Floral Fury music track.
In celebration of this, there's a limited-time sale on the Cuphead game. From now until 31st January, you'll be able to get this magnificent side-scrolling run and gun for 25% off its regular price.
That'll bring the game down to $14.99 / £12.74 (RRP $19.99 / £16.99). If you would like to find out more about this game, check out our review where we said it was an "absolute masterpiece" and gave it nine out of ten stars.
Will you be taking up this offer? Or are you too busy playing as Cuphead in Smash Bros. Ultimate? Tell us below.

Smash is basically free advertising for any dev lucky enough to get their character put in it.
I know Hamster also did this with some of their Neo Geo games to celebrate Terry's release.
Suprised more companies aren't doing this when their character makes it into Smash.
... still waiting on a (real) physical release...
So tempted to finally pick this up, but I'm holding off until a physical drops.
I too am holding out for a physical release.
Sensing a pattern here!
Everyone who owns a Switch should already own Cuphead! Seriously one of my top 5 games on the system. Absolutely a 10/10 for me.
I'm tempted, but I still need to master controlling my gamer rage before I get into hard games like this. While losing repeatedly might encourage many to keep playing and getting better, usually it just gets me royally pissed off.
25pct off is like the bare minimum now to be noticed on eshop, make it 50pct off and I will celebrate with you
Tempted but it sounds a bit too hard. It is one of those games ill buy on a more significant discount, knowing it is highly recommended but I will probably play it for an hour and give up.
Holding out for a real discount, like 70% off.
I don't need a discount... I need a physical cartridge! I'm gonna hafta hold off like a few others here.
...Still waiting on the DLC. TwT
Cuphead is a difficult but great game! I’m about 1/3 through my expert run. Can’t wait for the dlc to this game.
@NImH @spurryitboi @EVIL-C
The developers said that they will release a physical edition down the line, but only when they've finished the DLC so that they can put everything on the cartridge.
Personally, I can wait. Plenty of stuff to play in the meantime ^^
Sorry to be pedantic but think there's a typo on the rrp in the article.
Cuphead's a bargain at full price so this should be a complete no brainer for anyone that hasn't jumped on board yet.
I thought this was an announcement for a discount on the Cuphead Mii costume. I managed to offend myself that way.
This is good news though. The game plays brilliantly on Switch.
@HalBailman this isn’t like an Ubisoft or Capcom game where they overprice the listing so they can then reduce by 50% or more and still make a tidy profit.
Cuphead is one of the few games prices at a very reasonable value to start with (similar to Hollow Knight) so don’t think it will ever be 70% off and not should you need to.
If it helps, you could imagine they overpriced the listing initially at $49.99 and now it is 70% off marked down to $14.99! Bargain!
@BongoBongo you're 100% right. The game at full price is already a steal in my opinion!
Cuphead is marvelous in its style, but I can't recommend Ori and the Blind Forest enough. Imo, it's a better game overall, it's almost on par with Hollow Knight (almost).
Such two masterpieces we have just received.
@BarefootBowser Because it's tough as hell lol. You gotta be veeery patient to be able to finish it.
@hakjie11 yes I agree
@BongoBongo that’s rubbish I picked up battlefield one for £4.49 on origin at Christmas. Now that’s a bargain! big budget game and it’s fantastic with hrs of content. I’ve put 60hrs in already and haven’t even started the campaign yet I’ve just been on multiplayer. So a 70% discount is not a stupid idea.
@BarefootBowser I felt like that about Celeste. You had to die to work out where to go next. The game wasn’t particularly difficult once you knew where to go
This will be the first bit of dlc I pick up for Smash. None of the announced characters have interested me so far
@HalBailman
Target had it a few weeks ago for $9
That's the lowest I have seen it
@BongoBongo If I was super keen, I'd get it full price on release day. I'm not, so I'll wait, even if that's another 2 years or more. I have enough to finish already. Perhaps 50% off could tempt me if I get the itch one day.
CC @jamesthemagi
One of the very best 2D platformers (kinda). Still can’t believe I finished it - my Joy Cons were absolutely fine when I first installed it, absolute busted drifting mess by the time the credits rolled. True story, I don’t even regret it.
Also waiting on the physical release. I almost bit on the $9 sale at Target for digital, but the deal was already gone when I got to the website.
@DrDaisy
The bosses in the game aren't that long really. Cuphead has my favourite kind of challenges really: very hard but short and fast to retry.
@spurryitboi yes, when the final DLC releases this year
@Luffymcduck Even so, I gotta work on my anger issues first. There are just way too many things that upset me way too much right now. I don't think this game is going away anytime soon, and I'll be sure to check it out when I'm ready.
@Ooccoo_Jr it's a bargain if that's the price for a physical. It's not a bargain for the digital version. Digital games are nothing but money for companies. Cuphead is not a game worth the sale price sorry..
@Dirty0814 You do realise that all games whether physical or digital require the same amount of development right? This is a game years in the making with superb gameplay and an incredible art style. So yes it is easily worth a measly 17 quid regardless of the medium used to deliver it.
